  1. I don't know if James VI of Scotland was the youngest individual to be crowned a king, but he was crowned king when he was a year old.  His mother, Mary, Queen of Scots, was crowned a queen when she was six-days-old.

  2. well ya it could be baby Jesus... or king Tutankhamen (king tut) from Egypt who was king at 10 years old.

  3. Mary Queen of Scots became queen when she was 6 days old.  I don't know if that's the record but its got to be close.  She reigned from 1542 to 1567, although she didn't die until 1587.

  4. Several Dauphins of France were very young when they came to the throne .. but then couldn't rule on their own power .. so that leaves the only true contender  KING not ruler.. Mszwati III ( think that's how you spell it) of Swaziland .. if my memory serves me correct

  5. I think it was one of the African ones or a Chinese one.

Type "youngest king" in Google and you get a whole bunch of them.

  6. Melbroyalist really knows his/her stuff.  I was going to add Alfonso if no one else did, but I didn't have all the details

    KUDOS!

  7. Baby Jesus

  8. King Tut in the New Kingdom of Egypt became the boy king at age 8, however there was another boy king in Ancient America who's mother also served as a co-regent who was about the same age. Obviously, not many know his name.

And there's a young boy king mentioned in the Bible (not in Egypt but elsewhere).

  9. Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, King Oyo, is the current reigning Omukama of Toro, in Uganda. He was born on 16th April 1992 to King Patrick David Mathew Kaboyo Olimi III and Queen Best Kemigisa Kaboyo. Three and half years later in 1995, Oyo ascended the throne and succeeded his father to become the 12th ruler of the 180 year old Kingdom of Toro. He is currently the youngest ruling monarch and went down in the Guinness Book of records, taking the place of King Mswati of Swaziland who was crowned at 18 years of age.

Oyo Nyimba is referred to as the Omukama which means King and Rukirabasaija, the greatest of men. Although he is considered the sovereign leader of the Batooro, Oyo Nyimba's power is limited to cultural duties. To help him rule, King Oyo has three regents charged with grooming and overseeing his growth into the role of King. The regents handle the affairs of the Kingdom until Oyo turns 18. At the time of his coronation, the three regents included his mother, Queen Best, Princess Elizabeth Bagaaya, his Aunt and Godmother and President Yoweri Museveni.

  10. well i knew that ptolomeo of egypt was king at 16 years old ,

mary stuart of scottland was queen since her 6 years old ,

and hirohito of japan was emperor since his 14 years old , so the most youngest queen was mary stuart...good lucky

  11. King Alphonso XIII of Spain was proclaimed King at his birth on 17th May 1886 (he died 28th February 1941).

He actually became king even before his birth, since his father died 25 November 1885, half a year before he was born. So he was de jure King three months after he was conceived.

His mother, Queen Maria Christina, (born Archduchess of Austria) was appointed regent during his minority. In 1902, on attaining his 16th year, the King assumed control of the state.
