  1. Rafa and Ana Ivanovic are my favourite players so hope they will top the charts

  2. Roger Federer-Nadal

    Justine Henin-Maria Sharapova

  3. top contenders in men rafa n djokovic, probablity rafa, in women its gonna b sharapova nad serena, for ana and jelena long way to go.

  4. Roger will most likely loose it to Nadal maybe this year or next year as long as Rafa remains fit and healthy. There points are getting closer all the time. Djokovic is also a contender but will need to win quite a few titles from the number 1 and 2 to become number 1 for next year.

In womens Justins could loose it to more players such as Sharapova or Ivanovic and then you can never rule out Serena! Who knows, only time will tell!

  5. Nadal will slowly take the spot from Roger.  Djokovic is a possibility, but even this year, which is his best one, he still has a smaller winning % than Nadal.  As long as Nadal doesn't slip up during clay season (no pun intended), improving on hard courts after Wimbledon will move him up majorly.  Djokovic and Federer have a lot more points to defend during that part of the season than Nadal, which is why that could be his chance.

As for Justine, right now Sharapova is the top contender for that spot.  Ivanovic, Kuznetsova and Jankovic could be up there if they were able to find consistency in their game.  Serena is another maybe, but despite having great occasional tournaments, she tends to run out of steam by the next one, so I can't imagine her playing enough tournaments to climb the rankings enough to reach the #1 spot.

  6. It's quite tough to make that call because it's still very early in the season. But if I had to make a guess I still say Federer will keep his number 1 ranking because he is working himself back into form and I believe he will take the remaining three grandslams of the year. As far as Henin we'll see how she plays after the clay court season is over and how well she does at the French, if anybody would be the next number one I'd say Serena because she is playing the most consistent tennis right now and every tournament after the aussie open she's entered she's won.

  7. Well i think that Henin will keep it for quite some time. She is about 2500-3000 points ahead of the World No.2. But Federer, i dont know, he could lose it before wimbledon ..

  8. Roger- Nadal has more chance of getting the no.1 spot than djokovic...

Justine-maria and serena are going up in the wta rankings....

  9. No one.

There's a saying on the tour: The only person to beat Roger, is Roger Federer.

Justine... well, I don't know, but she's an excellent player and I'd take her backhand any day!

  10. Nadal maybe? I think he has been overdue the No.1 spot for a long time..competition tho from Djokovic now tho!

Women its a bit harder...I think Serena could be No.1 again..I don't think Ana Ivanovic is ready yet...Sharapova?

  11. Roger will not lose for sure!!  though he didnt hav a good start this yr, he is among them who wont give-up easily!!

Henin too is unlikely to lose her top spot but even if she does, it will b to Sharapova and no one else!!

  12. Nadal and Sharapova

  13. Roger and Henin won't lose their #1 spots! I'm d**n sure..... They both are equally working hard eventhough they have so many competitors to compete with !

  14. Well, no saying as to when it will happen, though eventually it will. I am going with Djokovic to be the new number one and possibly by seasons end if not next, and not just because of Federer's recent "struggles", and not because I dont like Nadal, I love the kid, but Novak clearly has been steadily on the uprise and has closed the gap. As much as Nadal has improved on all surfaces, he still needs to get those big wins/championships on hard courts to gain ground.

For the women, Justine has  nice healthy lead, but I dont see why Ivanovic wont be the new number one. As much as I love Serena and want her to be #1 again( and could possibly go down in history as being number one  two differnt times with a long time in between), I just dont think she plays enough to gain that much ground and then have to defend those points without taking a big dip in the rankings the following year to stall her climb. Ivanovic has the game for all surfaces, with her immense game, movement, and power,a nd in a matter of time will surpass Henin.

  15. Federer will stay no.1 for a long time and IF he lost his no.1 spot , it will sure be to Nadal, he totally deserves it and he has been so consistant for the past 4 years to stay no.2 for this long but Federer will stay no.1 for a long time to come.

On the women's side ,it will sure be Shrapova. She has had a magnificent year and rose from no.5 to no.3 and will probably rise to no.2 before the French open. She has what it takes to become no.1 and she has proved it in the Australian open.

Ana Ivanovic will be no.1 but that will happen in the far future. She still lacks some technique and skill to become the top-ranked player.

  16. nadal and maria

  17. Nadal will definitely take over Roger before any other player. Djokovic is up there but he's still well behind Roger and Rafa on points. Roger appears to be losing his edge, and he's not winning as much as he used to, which is totally natural and completely understandable.

However, when Roger's reign finally does come to and end it will be Nadal who will take over the No.1 spot for sure.

As for the women, I'm pretty certain that Sharapova will be out there for the number one spot. She has the game and the mental ability and she didn't have a great year last year so has a lot of points to gain. As long as she stays in form then she'll definitely be in a great position to take over. Ivanovic is nowhere near good enough yet to hold that spot, and will always fall behind to the better players, like Maria.

  18. justine will lose it to Ana Ivanovic and Federer to Novak Djokovic of coarse :)

  19. Probably Nadal first, but Djokovic will take over soon after that.  For the women, probably Sharapoava.

  20. Too easy, Nadal will shortly overtake Federer when everyone else becomes just as good as him, and Henin will be loosing to Sharapova because she has basically no points to defend after the French Open.
