  1. I would say Ireland. They looked decent in the world cup and unlike Kenya have more money to back up the team

  2. UAE

  3. In 2003, the ICC announced its intention to confer Test status upon Kenya in the near future.  However, Kenyan cricket has been through difficulties since then and as such no date for Kenya's promotion is likely to be set in the near future.

I think it will be along time before another country is introduced to the Test arena. Bangladesh's membership has been a farce: no disrespect to them, but they were, and still are, nowhere near ready to be a Test playing nation. We all know they were only promoted for political reasons. As Zimbabwe have regressed nearly 30 years in recent times, due to the political situation in their country, this has caused a huge problem in the Test arena, as there are two countries who are not up to a suitable standard.

Kenya have long been talked of a a future Test nation. It was actually thought at one stage they would have been the next after Zimbabwe. However, there have been problems in recent times, both on and off the pitch in Kenya, and it is unlikely the ICC will risk allowing them full membership just at present.

Ireland have been causing ripples in international circles recently. However, they do not have a solid enough base to ever be a realistic contender.

The same can be said for the Netherlands.

The 11th Test playing nation could turn out to be another Asian country. Nepal have been doing very well recently, and countries such as Malaysia have the potential to develop into full members.

Before anyone is promoted, very careful planning needs to go into it. They will need to have proved themselves on the ODI circuit for a number of years, and competed well on short tours of Test nations such as England, India and Australia against the counties and states. Only if they can prove their worth should any other countries be promoted.

  5. I think some people are being a little harsh on bangladesh you cant expect them to just start beating teams from the get go. im a new zealander and it took our test team over 25 years to get its first test win lol.

to answer your question kenya were close to being a suitable test playing nation but they have gone down hill since then and lack the solid cricketing structure that bangladesh have

Personally i think we should continue to help bangladesh grow as a test nation and hopefully get zimbabwe up and running again

  6. Ireland

  7. I believe it will be Ireland...

  8. Based on results and perfomance it should be Kenya

  9. 11, there shouldn't be 10 or even 9 - at what point in the last 5 years have Bangladesh or Zimbabwe looked like they could compete against average test sides like New Zealand or Pakistan.

We should take these out until they are regularly doing well against average test nations in ODI's.

  10. First ICC should ask Bangladesh to step aside. Make sure that no other country should be given that status until they have proven so.

  11. Ireland deserve to be after their great efforts in the world cup last year.
