  1. I believe the biggest sleeper will be Steve Slaton with the Houston Texans. His production thus far in the preseason has been impressive - I believe he will be the most valuable rookie sleeper this year.

I'm also leaning towards saying Durant Brooks - a punter with the Washington Redskins may also have a very heavy impact. For a team that was doing terrible in punting last year, drafting the nation's top punter could drastically reduce the load/pressure on the defense. Though Durant Brooks won't really have any fantasy value.

  2. Jonathan Stewert

  3. Matt Forte, Jonathan Stewart, or Rashard Mendenhall. Most likely Matt Forte because the Bears lost thomas Jones to the Jets and Stewart has to contend with Deangelo Williams, and Mendenhall has to contend with Willie Parker although he will get more goal line carries so he may have a lot of TD's.

  4. John David Booty when Gus Ferrote and Tavaris Jackson get injured

  5. You know who i would like to see have an awesome season... Matt Ryan of Boston College. He has struggled his first two preseason games, but once he ges used to the pass rushing and blitzes, i think he could have a pretty decent season with the Falcons. Matt Forte will also have a very good season with the Bears.

  6. I have to say from what I've seen so that Felix Jones will have the best year among NFL rookies.

  7. If Jason Cambell gets hurt. I can see Colt Brennen being the surprise rookie.

  8. i say felix jones

    or ray rice

  9. Ryan Grant wasn't a rookie...

But the surprise rookie this year will be Kevin Smith in my opinion.

  10. I think the Surprise last year was actually AP, even though he was drafted high, I think there was no way anyone could have predicted a season like that. I think the big surprise is Brian Brohm. After Rodgers gets hurt (and I think he will because he is injury prone, but other than that he is good) Brohm will step in and shock us all.

  11. I think there will be quite a few rookies that make an immediate impact this season.  Kevin Smith will be the starting back in Detroit and Matt Forte will be the starting back in Chicago.  I see them being the 2 biggest rookie impacts.  After those 2 you can look at Rashard Mendenhall getting the goalline carries in Pittsburgh.  Jonathon Stewart looks like he may win the starting job in Carolina.  Felix Jones takes on the Julius Jones role from last season.  James Hardy is the #2 receiver Buffalo was looking for across from Lee Evans.  Pittsburgh finally got themselves a big target at WR in Limas Sweed.  In Washington with Thrash, Moss and Randle El, none of them even close to 6'0" look for Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly to make a splash there as well.  Eddie Royal may also have a solid season, it looks like he may be the #2 receiver opposite Brandon Marshall.  No rookie QB will see any significant time and if they do, don't look for them to be much value.  There may be 1 exception there and I think that is John David Booty in Minnesota.  If Tavaris Jackson can't get the job done the Vikings may turn to him knowing they have a chance at something special this season and doing whatever possible to help ther chances.  John Carlson the TE in Seattle is another one that may possibly be an immediate impact.  Hasselbeck has never had a stellar TE and Carlson may be the guy Hasselbeck looks for underneath, especially with Engram out.

A lot of people lok for 1 or 2 breakout rookies, but I think there will be quite a few this year and there were quite a few last year as well.  Last season had more then Ryan Grant, you had Dwayne Bowe, Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch and James Jones to name a few.

  12. Matt Forte b/c he will have a lot of carry's....

  13. Deshaun Jackson, i prob spelled wrong anyway.

  14. as Sam H said Ryan Grant was not a rookie Green bay got him from New England Pats.  But I agree with alot of you there will be more than 1 rookie that will surprise everyone because of how many of them that will be starting players

  15. I think that Eddie Royal could have a good rookie year in Denver. In just preseason alone he has already taken the number 2 receiving spot. And with Marshall missing the first 2 games he will get a lot more action. Plus it will help him out being on the opposite side of Brandon Marshall.
