Who will be bigger disappointment after! missing playoffs?

the mets, who are choking now, as we speak, or yankees, with no pitching? and 200 million dollar payroll? who will new yorkers be pissed at most? personally, i say mets!!! with way bullpen is going!! fire the gm, i say! and bring in a man who gets pitching fro both!!! new york teams!!

I'd say that IF the Yankees miss the playoffs, they would be the bigger disappointment.  They have the person who is the highest paid player in the history of the game and a captain who is not far behind.  Winning is a tradition for the Yankees and I believe if they were to miss the playoffs for the first time in umpteen years, their fans would go head hunting.  Not to say that the Mets fans wouldn't have every right to go crazy after the way last year ended, but I think there is an acknowledgement already that they may miss the playoffs.  Yankee fans don't have that.

I say Yankees only because it can't get any worse for Mets fans than last year's collapse. Plus the Yankees have made the playoffs so many years in a row now that it would just seem odd without them there.

To answer your question...the Yankees will be the bigger disappointment but not for the reason you listed.  This year it would be their offense, of all things, which kept them out of the playoffs if that were to happen.  This same offense (excluding the recent Xavier Nady add-on) ranked NUMBER ONE in runs scored last season...this year somewhere around 12th or 14th?  The pitching this year has actually been pretty solid.  Yes, Joba is hurt as of last night.  Right now he's scheduled to miss at least one start.  But overall the finger of blame will be pointed to lack of offensive production against a very powerful AL East.

While both would be a disappointment I think the Yankees more because it woukd be the last seasin of Yankee Stadium and no playoffs and high expectations with that payroll and new Manager.
