I agree with a previous response. I think that you first have to determine what "success" means as the bottom line is different for many. I think that it is good to have a general idea of your plans as a guide and focus. But because life, situations, and circumstances are always changing and/or evolving, your plans/focus may have to as well. Therefore, a "go with the flow" attitude is always an asset.

People who dont go with the flow because they push harder but people who go with the flow are just laid bak type of people.

It depends totally on what you deem success to be. Even with that determined, how is the degree of success ("more" or "less") to be judged? Given this, it is simply your choice to either follow tradition or cut your own path.
