  1. Detroit....Yes there is some bias there but as much as many people hate to admit they are solid.  And while many may question the goal tending in Detroit at times you don't need the best goalie when you allow the fewest shots, put the most shots on opposing goalies and have the fewest penalties in the league nearly every year.

  2. pittsburgh and san jose

  3. I think Oilers are going to pick up their game. They have a lot of young talent there.

  4. detroit, as always. They are the best.

  5. The Montreal Canadiens, they have a young team,

and I think next season they are gonna go far.

  6. HaHaHa St. Louis blues because they are my favorite team

  7. Wait til mid july before i can predict, the some teams are only half intact, but detroit is always good, pittsburg will be good as long as MAF does not get injured, Pheonix should be good if they can aquire maybe Orpik or a good stay at home defensman.  other teams are uncertain

  8. Its so hard to say... I mean you are asking for a cold reading.

The Pacific Division will again be really competitve.  Dallas, Anaheim, and San Jose will all be strong.... I gove the edge to Dallas with Turco and those forwards.

Detroit will be the team to beat though.  Perfect balance of defense and offense; but (a lot of people won't admit this right now) but Osgood stumbles a lot and he's not known for repeating a great season.  I think they are weak in goal.

In the east, you have Montreal and Pittsburgh... and you never count out the Devils with Brodeur (although I think there best days are behind them).

Any of these teams can be the best.  I see these teams as the dominant teams but between all of them I don't think there will be a clear dominator.  I think we will be arguing till April of who is the best team between these teams.

  9. i think the wings and the pens...again but i hope the caps will be the best!!

  10. Well my Detroit Red Wings aren't going anywhere and they are the champs and will come back and be the best team ....as always! Not saying they will win back to back......but they have and they have 11 Stanley Cups!

  11. Everyone but the Flames.

    Just trying to jinx. :D

  12. No Doubt in my mind the Omsk team of the Russian League.

These guys are throwing dough to stars like Malkin and Jagr.

Its only a matter of time till they get more players and beat NHL teams

  13. I would have to say Detroit again. The Flyers have a chance if they hit free agency hard and Montreal could be also if Price hits his potential.

  14. The Anaheim Ducks since they placed Bertuzzi on waivers..will be back to form and shall challenge for another Stanley Cup especially after they re-sign Corey Perry and get Teemu Selanne back in the fold...Scotty is BACK!!! GO DUCKS!!!

  15. why did'nt anybody mention Montreal.

  16. Detroit. there gonna repeat

  17. i think the penguins are going to be righteous. they went to the playoffs last year and were embarassed, went this year and almost won it all, next year i think they'll play with a lot of fire and hunger.

  18. I say Dallas, like I always do :P, but this year it might come true, a good mix of young talent and veterans a great goalie and a stud captain, what's not to love?

  19. The Pittsburgh Penguins.

  20. Probably the Wings, again. And again. And again, and again. Make it stop!!! lol

  21. Over the past 4 years no team has won more regular season games than the Sharks and they are still the youngest team in the league so I would expect them to only get better. Having said that, it doesnt matter who is best team during the 08/09 NHL season, only who is the best during the 09 playoffs. Thats something that the Sharks havent been able to do. Regular season wins dont mean anything if you cant keep it up in the playoffs.

  22. Come on Rangers!

  23. San Jose was so close to making a strong run for the Cup. I think this could be their year.

  24. I see the Flyers are getting the same respect as last year

it seems to work in our favor so i'll take it

  25. New Jersey Devils. A stellar goaltender (again), they will sign goal scorers and up the defensive game and will be amazing. Devils all the way.

  26. The Toronto Maple Leafs, no joke.

  27. Welcome to Stanley Cup Prediction Hotline.  Our Crystal Ball is currently being fixed by a European glass maker.  It was broken when it found it's way into the Memorial Cup.  Once it is fixed, it will be sent to the Dahli Lama to be heuristically cleaned and spiritually atuned.  It should be back by mid-March.

Thank You for calling Stanley Cup Prediction Hotline.

  28. I predict Detroit will be the best once again but I expect to see Edmonton, Phoenix, Chicago and Columbus in the west along with Boston, Buffalo, Carolina and Tampa Bay in the East pick up the pace for the upcoming season.

  29. I would say my Red Wings, yet again. Ken Holland and Co. have them built to be contenders for years and years.
