If Floyd Mayweather, Jr. really is retiring, then the WBC title that he owns will become vacant.  The winner of the upcoming fight on June 21st between Andre Berto and Miguel Rodriguez will become the new titleholder.  As far as his linear and Ring Magazine title goes- the number one and number two contenders must fight each other to fill the vacancy.  Right now, Miguel Cotto is the number one contender and Shane Mosley is number two.  But, the rankings could change depending on who wins the upcoming fight between Cotto and Antonio Margarito as well as the rematch between Paul Williams and Carlos Quintana.  Whatever happens, I think its clear that the winner of Cotto-Margarito will be seen by most as the "number one guy" in the division now that Mayweather is retiring (or so he says).

Edit: Paul Williams starched Quintana in the first round of their rematch.  So, if Cotto wins against Margarito, then Cotto is the number one guy.  If Margarito wins that fight, then Williams will be the new number one guy because he has already beaten Margarito.

He will not be missed that much. The exiting boxers are still active like cotto, Margo, Paul, Shane, and new blood coming out.
