Below is a Good article on how bad of shape the schools are in. Along with every other thing our government is suppose to provide for us thats failing schools are in the worst shape and it has been going down hill for a long time. I am not a huge Obama fan any more but has McCain even said anything about this or is he that out of touch. Cause I know any person in a somewhat urban area has a bone to pick with public schools from on problem to an other. Wish the income tax money actually went to helping our country!!!

  1. The energy issue is a huge priority among American citizens. Because the costs are just skyrocketing. That is why McCain and Obama haven't said much about it. Public schools need to copy some of the private schools which have better results with less money. The US spends more money on education than any nation in the world but yet other countries are ahead of the US in standard testing. Public schools will be a problem till they get their act together, and manage the schools properly...

  3. The answer to your question is that our public schools CANNOT be fixed because they are insulated by too many layers of government bureaucracy.  A quiet revolution is taking place in American right now...people are pulling their kids OUT of public school, and teaching them at home.  More and more of us every day!  Not just for religious reasons any more, but because of the horror that our public schools have become.  We pay our share of taxes into the system and get nothing in return...then we spend even more on buying curriculum out of our own pockets...why you ask?  Because our children deserve better than what they are getting.  The most I can ever hope to get out of this corrupt system is that eventually it might let me keep my tax dollars, and spend them on a home-based education for my children!
