Who will india call up in place of Sehwag (due to injury)?

It should be Sourav Ganguly, as some have already pointed out. He is a batsman of pure class in ODI cricket, with years of experience behind him, and also capable of serving as an occassional wicket taker. The ones who have never seen dada play ODI cricket could probably never imagine what he was capable of doing at one point of time-he was such a player who could single handedly take the match away from the opposition. On his day, Sourav used to strike better than anyone else.

Apart from Ganguly and Dravid, I see no one else who has the potential of filling the void left by Sehwag. But unfortunately, our selectors just don't have the good sense of providing a chance to these experienced players, especially after their poor performance in the test series.

It has been clear that Subramaniam Badrinath (All-Rounder) will replace Sehwag; Even though we all know no one can replace a hitter like Sehwag India is looking to find a REPLACEMENT for injured Sehwag.

I prefer Robin Uthappa who really have a very good talent and the technique of playing.. And coming to the other replacement is Dinesh Karthik who also have a good ability to score runs...

yah i dont understand india bringing in a u19 player. I would go with mohammad kaif.

Badarinath is the best choice as a opener. And he is also a good fielder.

Abhishek nayar, SDhawan, RJadeja...these players performed well in IPL2008. VKohli is not a replacement for Sehwag. Check the scores of VKohli in IPL.

YPathan can crush the M&M spinners.

So YPathan should recall for VSehwag.

Sourav Ganguly

He has opened in ODI's for the majority of his career and for most of the last 10 years for India. He had a superb ODI career, he always tried to get India off to a flyer. Why bring a untried youngster in the side? when they have a world class batsmen still hungry to score runs?
