The big 3 is irreplacable,beacuse the amount of cricket they have played and the class,technique and consistency they had,but it is the nature of the sport one has to go after the sport has been finished for him it may be due to obvious reasons.

the players who can probably fill in the positions are

gautam gambhir- saurav ganguly

rohit sharma-rahul dravid

virendar sehwag-sachin tendulkar although sachin can never ever be replaced with any player in the world.

There are many talented youngsterxs waiti8ng in the wing.  Among them Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma look like the certainties in the future Indian Team.  There are many other players coming up like Dhawan of Delhi, Manoj Tiwari, Asnodkar, Virat Kholi,Badrinath etc.

Why to replace them? The youngsters 've immense talent to make their own identity in the world of cricket! Why should they be called the next tendulkar or ganguly? I think they are very talented and many of them 've very bright future waiting for them! Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Yuvi, Dhoni, Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Manpreet Gony, etc..are all very talented in their own way......I think our young Indian team is very good and they certainly 've the capability to win the World Cup 2011...

Well, there are various prospects for people to replace Ganguly, Sachin and Dravid. Right now.. Gautam Ghambir will probably be India's key player in the future for T20s and ODIs due to his consistency  and speed of scoring. Surely Sachin Tendulkar is the hardest person to replace, but Virender Sehwag might become a true and experienced player by 2010. Saurav Ganguly can be replaced by the new and upcoming Rohit SHarma. He only played a handful of tests, ODIs and T20s but has truely made an impression demanding of a permanents spot of the Test squad.

My reasons for picking who i picked:

Virender Sehwag for Sachin: Sachin has shown consistency, power and has the ability to make sterling cover drives. These same qualities can be seen in Sehwag (though Sehwag presently lacks a BIT of consistency, which is surely improving).

Rohit Sharma for Ganguly: Ganguly has a very demanding presence, just like Sharma. He is already showing consistency and proving himselft very useful even in the extremely tough situations.

Ghambir or Sehwag for Dravid: though I did say Sachin would be extremely hard to replace, Dravid is equally hard to replace in the Test squad. He has an average of 55 proving that he plays probably most consistently in the entire Test squad. Dravid can make incomparable and imaculate drives and shows willingness, patience and true character. It would take two players to replace him. Though Ghambir plays much quicker, he has the same capabilities as the "Wall". And surely Sehwag is the test future for india as well as every other form of the game.

Key players to look out for in the future: Virender Sehwag (who still has a long cricket future), Gautam Ghambir, Rohit Sharma and Yusuf Pathan. (please forgive me because i might be forgetting some players).

No one. The youngsters may carry on the gppd work of these legends, and they play together as a team to make India victorious, but replace Tendulkar Ganguly and Dravid? No never. They are simply an unique class of players, and can't be replaced. Who can replace Sachin's perfection, dada's elegance, and Dravid's tenacity?

The youngsters would shine in their own way. Previously, the whole team relied upon Sachin, Sourav and Dravid. But now, 11 players perform together as a team. And naturally, 11 committed players can bring better success than 3 great players, and the rest non performers. team India is doing well even with young and inexperienced players because of this factor, and also because their contemporaries from other teams aren't that great either. Most of key players has retired, which has rendered many international teams weak. I don't think any youngster of  the present Indian team possess the talent to come up to the level of Ganguly, Sachin, and Dravid, and replace them.

Just the right person to give the much needed left -right combi to to start the indian innings and make controling the swing of the new white ball even more difficult for ballers. Added comes the agressiveness and a temperamant to complement Sehwag.

Sachin -> Rohit Sharma

Though too much of an ask from this young man, he may live up to some expectations. Barring his last innings of 9(27) he has showed potential and looks as composed as Sachin on the pitch.

Dravid -> ???

We may not miss him much in ODIs but in test cricket, it may take a while for us to find a person as dependable as him. Perhaps Dhoni may fill in for sometime.

It's really hard to replace this trio and no one should forget their significant contributions to glorify our cricket archive. But, it's obvious as all of these players are around 35 so fresh blood will definitely take place.

I'm not really sure that these 3 genius can really be replaced by the same kind of quality and talent but we are hopeful that we will get their replacement. My players for 2010 are:

Ganguly will be replaced by Gautam Gambhir, Dravid may be replaced by Suresh Raina and I believe that no body can replace Sachin but Rohit Sharma should fit in his place.

Hmmmmmm i dont think there is a need to replace sachin savrav and dravid... There r many talents coming in our team who has made their own mark in the short international career.. I mean to refer Gambhir, Raina, ROHIT, Ishanth, Praveen kumar and not to forget PATHAN brothers.. I didnt include dhoni, yuvi, sehwag senior talents because tey hve their own fame and proved talent.. All these youngsters make the complete team in the batting as wel as the bowling department.. IN the early times when the three guns of the indian team were playing only tey were dependent... But now al youngsters r puttting their hands up... shortly the young players to watch out in the absence of the 3 big guns are..
