  1. I get your point: It's sexist to ask a female candidate about who will take care of her children and not ask a male candidate the same question.

    So much for the Dems' claim that they're the only party who sees women as the equals of men. They're hypocrites.

    As soon as the GOP picks a woman, the Democratics ABANDON what they CLAIM to believe, and try to cast doubt on the woman's ability to see to the welfare of her family if she is elected to office.

    That is NOT equal treatment. It's sexism, pure and simple.

    I'm a woman. I am 54 and I STILL believe that women can do or be ANYTHING they set their minds to. I am also a registered Republican and pretty conservative. That does not make me the Antichrist, or Suzy Homemaker (whom I personally believe is the REAL Antichrist).

    I am studying for the NJ CPA exam now. There is NO DOUBT in my mind that I will pass it if I work hard enough. I guess I could sit around and moan about the job market being tight, especially for 54-year-olds like me, but it's tough for EVERYONE right now. I am proceding on the faith that I will get a better job supporting my family when I become a CPA.

    OK, I got a little off topic, but my point is still that women just have to keep on doing the things necessary to reach their goals, because there is NOTHING a woman can't do.

  9. President Obama will not be the first to occupy the white house with small children.  JFK had very young children living in the white house. They were younger than the Obama daughters. I'm sure that the same arrangements for childcare that he and the first lady, Michelle, are employing now will be accessible to them later. They also have the option of providing separate residence for their family if they so choose.

    BTW:

    I referred to the senator as president not so much because he has my vote. I'm confident that he will win.  I made the reference for the sheer enjoyment of the exploding heads that such a comment will generate among people here who would suffer the continuation of flawed economic, foreign, and domestic policies for another 4 years because they can't get with the times and see beyond bias when casting their votes.  They'd rather suffer and bite off their noses to spite their faces than see a man of African desent in the oval office.  It tickles me to no end.  

    You now have permission to fire away with your mindless and/or derrogatory  comments and thumbs downs!  Just remember I'll be LMAO as I read them and again in January during the swearing in ceremony while thinking of you!

  15. Good question. You know he puts America first. I think he will raise our taxes so we can pay for him to hire a nanny to take care of his kids while he's over fighting in Iraq, or talking. lol.

  28. Michelle works part time in her old position with The University of Chicago Hospitals.  Since both kids are in school, they won't be there all the time.  There have been plenty of children in the White House and Obama's aren't as young as the Kennedy's were.

    There have been many presidents who had children at home while President - Clinton, Carter, and Kennedy in just the past 50 years - and all their children appear to have grown into responsible adults.
