Who will top the 2010 PGA tour? – Justin Rose, Tiger Woods, or Phil Mickelson
Due to Tigers Woods infidelity to his wife, he has created a new aura around him, where everyone stands to watch each of his swing in anticipation. But what golf’s God has given to the world is metamorphism, by falling from grace and becoming part of the pros. This decade has produced more than 10 champions under 30 this year.
Putting two major championships in front and a few other seasons, these 3 players are most likely to top the 2010 PGA Tour.
Justin Rose has flourished all over gold tours over a short period of time. His consistency has been remarkable; he could very well win the PGA Tours most prestigious award – PGA Tour Player of the Year. He has won two championships with 8 top 25 finishes and 4 top 10 finishes this year.
The PGA Tour Player of the Year award is selected with a count of average scoring, money list position and off course depending on how many tours the player has won in a year. If rose keeps his stellar performance up which he will as he shows no sign of backing out he could achieve the award.
He is ranked No.2 by the Fed-Ex points, No.3 in money leaders and No.1 in scoring average (69.65).
In general, Rose is a robust player and has played golf superbly throughout the year, considering his astral performance at the AT&T National.
Tiger Woods who has been the man of the hour in Golf, dominating the sport for decades has lost the title as he just is not quite what he used to be. He might have lost his holy charm but his presence still holds quite a lot of weight and players around him do seem to get under confident.
Tiger has not proven much lately although he did finish being in the top 5 in last two major championships. But thinking that Tiger will somehow strike his opponents and go past them will be unwise; the striving player has yet to make a hole consistently. Although ever since his return he might not have shown some serious skills which he once possessed, but he certainly has not lost the ability to take control of vital moments. His capability of building a birdie or an eagle even when it seems impossible is quite enticing.
Sadly if one was to tell apart from Tiger of 2010 and Tiger of previous years, he most certainly has forgotten how to cast the spell which made him put on the greens. This inability of his has cost him two major Championships such as the U.S. Open and Masters tournament.
Phil Mickelson out of the two could very well take the championship home this year. There are many reasons as to why this beautiful striker could win his 5th major championship in his career. His uncanny ability to read the greens, his strokes around the green are just flawless.
Phil has the potential to conquer the Whistling Straits: a course with 7500 yards to it, with surging greens. Phil is a professional golfer who finished in the top 4 in the U.S. Open and won the Masters Championship this year. He has proved to be an elevating player. He has proved with his ability to remain seated under pressure, improved inaccuracy off the tea and controlled aggression that he is ready to sit on the throne.
Mickelson has had an implausible year; he finished 5 times in the top 10’s competing against all the top players of Golf, remaining calm under extreme pressure. He played Quail Hollow Championship finishing 2nd, U.S. Open finishing 4th and played the Pebble Beach Pro-Am finishing 8th
Phil will definitely persevere to his steadiness and give his rivals a tough run.
