Who will volunteer to help out in the aftermath of GUSTAV?

Will volunteers need to provide there own transportation and housing while they are there? Just how does that work?

  1. Mostly volunteers need to go in with an organized group.  Best thing is to have taken training in advance but this being too late for that contact Salvation Army, Baptist help groups, Catholic relief groups priests and ministers in your area can give contact info if you can't find on net.  See what your own church and otters in your area may be doing.   Some groups charter a bus and take tents.  Some go in a convoy of motor homes and campers, some arrange to stay in shelters.  Some brig food supplies for group and others expect each volunteer to do that.  You can also take part in food drives etc in you area.  For some info see http://www.secondharvest.com to look up info on foodbank near you.   also if It is anything like Katrina there may be evacuees in your area and that may be a good place to start helping.
