Who will win: Cubs or Pirates?

fact: Jason Marquis is the starting pitcher for the cubs this afternoon which has struggled recently giving up a lot of runs.

fact #2. The Cubs have played well against the Pirates this season...

Cubs just swept the brewers and the Pirates just traded away ALL of their talent. Cubs should win even if their pitcher struggles. Pit doesn' thave any bats. 2 of their 3 outfielders (who were ALL of the team's power) are now on differnet teams.

I think the Cubs win tonight but I'm not calling for a sweep.

Pirates! This Jeff Karstein's guy that was just acquired from the Yankees is amking his first start in a Pirates uniform, and I will watch to see how it goes! The new-look Pirates are going against one of the best in baseball, and I hope they will sppoil it! They are my second favorite team!

The Pirates will probably win.  The Cubs are coming off of a big sweep of the Brewers so they are probably due for a little bit of a let down game, and the Pirates have been playing with weight of potential trades over their head and should be fairly relaxed for this game, so go with the Pirates.

i would normally have said the cubs since they have owned the pirates this year, but there are 2 things that are against the cubs.

1. the cubs almost always struggle against a pitcher they have never seen before

2. jason marquis just flat out blows

The one good thing is jason bay and xavier nady are no longer there and they have almost always played well against the cubs. All that said, the cubs will win today and should easily win the series because nady, mclouth, doumit, and bay were pretty much the offense in pittsburgh.

Fact : The Cubs are 9-3 against the Pirates this year.

Fact : The Pirates are throwing a rookie pitcher against Jason Marquis today.  

Fact : The Pirates have traded away Xavier Nady, Jason Bay and Damaso Marte, who's left outside Nate McLouth.

Cubs because the Pirates are pretty much nothing without Jason Bay and there pitching stinks. Plus the cubs are on there way to the World Series but i'm a Nationals fan.

Marquis has struggled lately, but the Cubs's offense has not. They've score 31 runs in the 4 game sweep of the Brewers. The Pirates only have Doumit and McLouth to match that offense. I'd say the Cubs win.
