The separation of humanity from nature is artificial.  We big headed humans would like to think that we are somehow no longer a part of the natural order, but we are just another part of nature.

I think I've got the answer to this. I often race my pet octopus Crystal. On land, even with her eight tentacles, I coast home way ahead. In water its a different matter and I'm flapping around like an amateur. She's so graceful in the water. So I can confirm that on land humanity wins in water its nature. Hope that helps. Nature.  Humanity will fail to live until the day that the sun dies out, which will be the ultimate end of nature.  That is of course, the human race doesn't kill off nature.  In that case humanity will win, but we won't survive long after that point.

Well nature has existed for millions of years dominating the landscape and in many cases shaping it. But with the rise of humanity we have moved away from depending on nature, if humanity wanted to it could destroy all life on the planet. but nothing lasts forever and the human race will die out eventually but not for a long time. After that nature shall take back what we have taken from it and regain its dominance once again.

Some viral infection will kill off mankind probably quite soon and then nature will recover and re-establish itself and the planet recover from the damage mankind has inflicted on it.In terms of existence a few million years is not a long time.There will be plenty of other life forms left.
