I think Michigan will pull out at least a 17 point win because the only weapon MSU has is Ringer and Michigans D is gonna be one of the best in the country and by the time of the game Michigans offense wont be so turbulent. I think it's gonna be a rout for the Maize & Blue.

  1. I think we are going to crush Michigan State by at least 3 TD's, maybe more. I would love to know why everybody is saying the Spartans are going to win 9 games and finish in the top 25. For one thing, they have a brutal schedule. I looked at their schedule, and they ain't going to a Bowl game. They will finish 5-7. But also, they lose just as many key players on both sides of the ball-if not more-then Michigan. The offensive line is always mediocre or downright horrible, and 2008 will be no different. They lost top WR Devin Thomas and all Big ten TE Kellen Davis. They lost TB Jehuu Caulcrick, who had 21 TD runs, and that’s going to put way too much pressure on Javon Ringer. On defense, they lost top linebacker SirDarean Adams, their two great DE's (Ervin Baldwin and Jonal St Dic), and safety Nehemiah Warrick. Their linebacking crew is so bad that a mediocre true freshmen (Greg Jones) led them in tackles last season, and Jones was abused by Michigan’s running attack last season. Now that they lost Adams, their linebackers ain't getting any better. MSU fans rave about Jones and OLB Eric Gordon, but Gordon has been a bust so far considering he was a former 4 star prospect. Their linebackers are quite underwhelming, as is their entire defense. They return their two cornerbacks (Ashton Henderson and Kellen Davis Clark) but as we both know, Michigan's top WR's always make MSU's cornerbacks their personal punching bags. Manningham owned Henderson last season, and in 2008, its Mathews turn to rip apart MSU's secondary. Oh yeah, speaking of Mathews, he had a TD catch against MSU last season, as did TE Carson Butler. Mathews and Butler will be giving MSU's defense nightmares in 2008. Same goes for TB's Carlos Brown and Brandon Minor, who will run all over MSU for 250 yards and a couple TD's. Minor had that great 40 yard TD run against the Fartans in 2006, and just like Penn State, the Fartans never have an answer for our runninggame.

Basically, the only impressive player on MSU's defense is safety Otis Wiley, and “maybe” DE Trevor Anderson, a transfer from Cincinnati. Michigan’s offense (which will be running smooth at this point in the season) will abuse the Michigan State defense next season, both in the running game and in the passing game. As for Michigan’s defense against MSU's offense, the Spartans still have Brian Hoyer at QB, and he had only 160 yards against us last season, not to mention he is turnover prone. Now that Thomas and Davis are gone, and considering we have Trent, Warren, Stevie Brown, and Brandon Harrison dominating in the secondary, Hoyer will be lucky to surpass 100 yards against us in 2008. All MSU has on offense is Ringer, and as already mentioned, the loss of Caulcrick makes him a less effective TB because he has to carry such a heavier burden now. All Michigan has to do is stuff the box with 8 guys, and Ringer will be contained and/or stopped, as will the entire Spartan offense.

Finally, the game isn't at Spartan Stadium, it’s at the Big House, and Michigan ALWAYS dominates Michigan State at the Big House. 7 of the last 8 times the Wolverines have played the Spartans at home, they've won by AT LEAST 2 TD's (the lone exception was the 2004 game). 2008 will be yet another victory by at least 2 TD's for the Wolverines at the Big House

I think MSU will come out really fired up to win this game, and they might make a big play on special teams or something, so I think that’s good for about a TD or two. However, make no mistake: this will be a blowout victory for the Wolverines. I say Michigan wins it by a score of about 38-14, as a huge 21-point quarter sparks them to victory (don't ask me which quarter)

  2. MSU is gonna win....they are the third toughest team in the big ten this year behind OSU and illinois...also richh Rodriguez doesnt have what he needs to productively run his offense and the D isn't supposed to be as tough as you think it's gonna be..........U of M is gonna struggle all season.....I think it will be close as rivalries usually are.....I'm a buckeye grad so i should know, but i think the spartans will pull this one out.....shoot some are picking notre dame over michigan already and they sucked last year

  3. MSU will win easily.

  4. MSU.
