Who will win the 2012 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship?
Red Bull Racing are undeniably the strongest contender in the 2012 Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship but McLaren can surely give them a tough time in the remainder of the season.
The Milton Keynes based team has not been able to dominate in this season as they did in the previous one in which their driver, Sebastian Vettel claimed 11 grands prix victories. Moreover, they have struggled with the design of their car due to the change
in the rules and regulations by FIA. Nonetheless, they have still performed amazingly well in the season until now and have been considered as the toughest contender in the title chase.
Although, they have managed to lead the constructors’ championship right from the start, however, keeping the unpredictability of the ongoing season in mind, they can surely have a tight battle with the Woking based team in the remainder of the season.
It will be important to note that the team principal of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh expressed that they are trying their best to win both the drivers’ and the constructors’ championship titles and they surely have got the potential to achieve their goal.
“Following the mandatory factory shutdown, we're fortunate to have had two full weeks available to prepare ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix,” Whitmarsh said. “As usual, we're heading into this double-header hopeful of closing the gap to the leaders in both
the drivers' and constructors' championships.”
“Lewis's victory in Hungary certainly provided further proof to us that we can take on the fight for both - and that remains our aim: to win both world championships,” he added.
Even though, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull became the most favourite title contender in this year’s championship fight after winning the Japanese GP. Nevertheless, he still said that they need to keep on working hard so as to win the championship title as
the competition is very tough.
“We don't know what will happen at the next race. It's a long season with some crazy racing,” said the veteran German driver.
It will be exciting to see how the defending champions perform in the remaining races of the current season and whether they will be able to defend their championship title or not.
