Ok im not saying this because ima red sox fan but i thin the red sox will win the al east  and i think the yankees will win the wild card because the yankees are playing good baseabll they are in 4 game win streak and there team are playing actually as a team now.......the Rays are good but there young like evan longoria is very good and he is also a rookie the will probly make a good run in the wild card but will fall back at the end  this is coming from a red sox fan they yankees are a good team but its just that sometimes the dont kno how to work as a team like some one on the team will hit a double wit no one on base and then someone will strike out  when theres people in scoring position hope i answered you question

Giambi is on fire. Don't underestimate the mustache. The only problem is A-Rod in those clutch situations. You can't always count on him now. He produces early on but when the clutch comes it's not his best.

Yankees have been a second half team. They are on a 4 Game Win Streak. Injuries were holding them back earlier now they are starting to catch fire. Pitching has been decent not the best in their division but I think it's enough for them to win the AL East.

Only 4.5 games from first place and we're still early in the second half.

The Yankees have a shot only if 3 things happen. They trade for a big name catcher like McCann, because Jorge is out for the year. They need the Red Sox to lose Josh Beckett or Dice K or Manny  for at least 2 months to the DL, and they need the Rays to lose Crawford or Upton to the DL. Other than that, I see the Rays as AL East Champs, only if the Yanks fail to do these things, which is not going to happen.

I think the Rays are too young and will fold under the pressure, the Yankees can if they ever wake up start hitting consistently, but i think the Red Sox will win because of their pitching and overall team chemistry.

The Red Sox are the definition of a dynasty. They work well under pressure and always seem to win when its key. I dont doubt the Yankees taking the wild card since they are a veteran team and the Rays have never been in a race this late in the season before.

For now I will say the Red Sox. It's really a toss up because neither can beat the other on each others home field. So I will go with experience over youth for now. But come September that may change depending on how the last two series between them go.

I am a Yankees fan, but I have to say we'll count ourselves lucky if we even win the wildcard. The Red Sox and Rays are both better teams right now. The Rays are slumping a little lately and that will happen with every team now and then, especially one that is as young as they are. That said, they still have too much talent and a very good rotation anchored by Kazmir to be passed by NY. The Yanks don't have a solid rotation and their offense isn't scoring runs like it used to, even though their bullpen has been great this year. I think the Red Sox will win the AL East because they have the rotation, the bullpen, and the offense, especially when Ortiz comes backt his week. But these are just my predictions, anything could happen....and I hope the Yankees do come through.
