  1. We don't even know who will run yet! Not for sure anyway. I can't wait to see Curlin if he runs. His pedigree screamed "Classic" distances to me, and Belmont would be a perfect set up for Street Sense.

Even though there isn't a TC at stake anymore, I hope Carl Nafzger will run SS. I would love to see a match against those two at a greater distance than the Preakness was run at. I think it would be one of the most exciting races this year!

  2. I'm hoping that Street Sense and Curlin skip the Belmont, and focus on the Breeders Cup.  Both have proven to be the best of the best this year, and have nothing left to prove for the time being.

If neither runs, than my money would be on a live longshot.  I heard a votes, for Slew's Tizzy, but can he go 1 1/2?  I don't believe Tiznow every ran that far, so it's hard to guess.  Keep in mind that most thouroughbreds can go 1 1/8, but only certain horses have the stamina, breeding, ability, and class to go the classic distance and beyond.  Slew's Tizzy should be able to get the classic distance, and in fact would have been my pick for the Derby.  But beyond..........?  Obviously a very good question I would like to find out myself, but until I see the lineup, I would take anything with boxcars that looks live.  Remember also that the Belmont is almost as unpredictable as the Derby.

  3. Slew's tizzy and maybe Street Sense if he's running in the Belmont!! Curlin's also looking good!!!

  4. The fast improving Slew's Tizzy and I don't care who else is in the field.

  5. I would love to see a Street Sense/Curlin rematch in the Belmont.  The Preakness was as near a dead-heat as you can get, and in Street Sense's defense, the horse in the lead always has a tough(er) time holding on, unless he can just run away from the field (like Barbaro last year in the Derby, R.I.P.).  Those 2 horses, through both of the TC races, have been the class of the field.  On a toss-up, I'd give the race to Street Sense, guessing that Curlin used up a little more gas in the Preakness.  If Hard Spun could just keep from breaking for the front so early, he may have factored in a little more in both races, rather than fading down the stretch.

  6. I too really like Slew's Tizzy, but I am thinking that a place or show bet on longshot Imawildandcrazyguy from the Derby would be great.  He finished 4th and with the extra distance, I am sure he would have been in the money. .
