  1. AL Cliff Lee Leads the league in ERA and the AL in Wins. he has 30% of his terrible teams wins. pretty good. if K-rod breaks the record he might win.

NL Brandon Webb will win. 3rd in NL in ERA and NL in wins on a mediocre team. Personally i would vote for Tim Lincecum who leads the NL in ERA and MLB in strikeouts.

  2. Everyone says Webb NL and Lee AL, here's what i think

    NL

Why Tim Lincecum should win over Brandon Webb

    Tim:     2.60 ERA/192 K's/.227 BAA/49 ER/140 Hits/13 W/3 L

    Webb:  2.74 ERA/153 K's/.231 BAA/56 ER/157 Hits/19 W/4 L

sure, Webb has way more wins, but that's cuz the Giants bullpen and offense both suck and keep messing it up for him. He's leading in ERA, gets more Strikeouts, gives up less hits, less runs, i know Webb is great, but Tim has been better this season.

    AL

    Cliff Lee

Dice K has been good, but Lee has had a better ERA, and has gotten 18 wins on a team that hasn't done all that great this year, while Dice K gets wins on the Red Sox, one of the best hitting teams in baseball. i know, Dice K was injured this season, but it happens. and unfortunately that puts him at a disadvantage. we don't know what would have happened in those starts

  3. AL

Cliff Lee 18-2 2.43 era  outstanding W-L exellent era

Daisuke Matsuzaka 15-2 2.77 era  will finish 19-5

Justin Duchscherer 10-8 2.54 era won't win but up in consideration

K-Rod 48 sv 2.70 era on pace to break SV record

    honerable mention

Joe Saunders, Jon Lester, Scott Kazmier, Matt Garza, Andy Sonnanstine, Roy Halladay

    NL

Brandon Webb 19-4 2.74 era  The Obvious choice the 06 winner is Favrod to win in 08

Tim Lincecum 13-3 2.60era This young Leftey is Challenging Webb May win

Edinson Volquez 15-5 2.73 This guy was traded for AL MVP favrote Josh Hamelton Volquez has had quite a season shoker if Hamelton Wins MVP and Volquez wins cy young

CC Sabathia 8-0    If he can finish Say 15-1 he will be in serious connsderation

    Honrable Mention

Ben Sheets, Ryan Dempster, Johan Santana

  6. NL  CC Sabathia, I know he hasn't been in the NL all year, but that's not his fault. He is hands down the best pitcher in the NL right now, and if he doesn't end up with a loss in the NL, then he deserves it. Come on he is 8-0 with 5 complete games and a 1.60 era in the NL, that's domination. I know Brandon Webb is great too, but if CC wins out the rest of the year and has a couple more complete games he should get it.

AL  Cliff Lee, I don't watch too much AL ball, but everytime I do see Lee pitch he is dominant, I don't know any of his stats though.

  7. Brandon Webb has it for the NL easily. I think it's gonna be a race for the AL though. There's a lot of pitchers in it. Lee, Saunders, Mussina, Duchscherer.

  8. In my humble opinion, if Sabathia continues his tear, and if Webb falters slightly at the end, I think the NL Cy Young should go to Sabathia.  He has been nearly unhittable since he got to Milwaukee.

As for the AL, I think it's going to come down to Halladay and Lee.  Duchscherer is sitting at 10 wins right now, and just went on the DL, so his run at the Cy Young is over.  Daisuke is not dominant enough; he gives up way too many walks, and has a high WHIP.

Compared to Lee, Halladay has over 20 more innings pitched in just one more start, more K's, a silghtly better WHIP, and has had 5 more complete games than Lee.  All that Lee has is 3 more wins, and a slightly better ERA.  In my opinion, if Lee has just one bad start between now and the end of the season, and if Halladay stays strong, it'll go to Halladay.

  9. NL: It HAS to be Brandon Webb... he's sooo good

AL: Well there are lots of good pitchers in the AL... I'll say Cliff Lee wins it
