My pick is the Cardinals because they won 10 world series to the Cubs 2 and the Brewers 0

  1. The Brewers have put a lot of effort into it and I think it is going to pay off.

  2. I'd say Cubs to win the Division. However, if the Brewers manage the Wild Card (and they proably will), they will be a more dangerous team in the playoffs.

And this is coming from a Cub fan.

  3. Cubs-Alfonzo Soriano came back after breaking a finger and he has been playing great ball and stepping up when he needs to and every other player is doing a good job of that to and also now that Kerry Wood is supposed to be back today he is a closer that can throw strikes like very few other people can.  Carlos Zambrono is a pitcher that can get outs at the mound and can hit the ball so I go with cubs.

  4. The Cubs, but your reason for the Cardinals is not very good. by your reasoning the Yankees should win the AL East and obviously they are not doing that right now.

  5. i wouldnt say that the past means that much for the cardinals in that sense.  However, LaRussa managed the cardinals in 2006 and took them to the world series and won it.  This year they probably have half the talent, but double the heart.  They are playing for their jobs, they are all young and its so much fun to watch them play.  I pick the cardinals as well, its a personal bias but an opinion none the less.  Carpenter starts tomorrow, and i think he will help them out, and when wainright comes back they may be a better 1 2 punch than sabathia/sheets and zambrano/harden.

  6. I say Cubs! Go Cubbies! =]

  7. Brewers will win it.

  8. the Cards will put pressure on the division leader, but won't make the playoffs.  as of right now, the Cubs are playing like they want the division.  however, there is still a lot of baseball left.  either way, i see the Cubs and Brewers being in the postseason this year.  the Brewers have an easier schedule down the stretch, as their most difficult task was the 1st half of the season.  the Cubs on the other hand, had a very easy 1st half season, while their 2nd half is expected to get more difficult.  with many Cubs players returning from injuries, i expect them to still pull out with the division.  however, come playoff time, i expect the Brewers to have it together and will make a push and may be even more dangerous come that time then the Cubs.  What i mean is, maybe Yost will come to realize that Durham (switch hitter, .292 average) should be starting the lineup over Rickie Weekss (.214 avg), Bill Hall will be benched, and maybe Kapler can get more hits in a game.  adjustments will be made.  as for the Cards, the past is the past, this is now.  different team, different time, different year.  they are solid, but not amazing.

  9. Cubs win it by 6 over the Wild Card Brewers and the Cards finish 10 back.

  10. The past means nothing this year.  World Series mean nothing during the regular season.  You're reasoning for picking the Cardinals may be the most ridiculous reasoning I've ever heard.  Cubs will win the division and the Brewers will win the Wild Card.

  11. the Cubs have enough pitching, especially if Wood gets healthy, and they have more hitting than Milwaukee. the Cubs will win the Central.
