Who will win the kentucky derby?

give me your top 5 in order of 1st to 5th on how you think they will do! i want to bet on this so give me your inside stuff. so far it looks like i want to bet on Curlin, Street sense, or Scat daddy. Any suggestions?

I'm not an expert or anything, but by what I know, I say Hard Spun or Cowtown Cat. They both had PHENOMENAL times in 5 furlongs. That's my basis, plus their in a good position.

This is the question on everyone's mind and there are as many answers. At least there are 6 contenders with a real chance. I believe in oversimplifying as far as betting is concerned. I would like to bet HARD SPUN across the board i.e. WIN, PLACE and SHOW and enjoy the race. My exacta would be SCAT DADDY, STREET SENSE, CURLIN with HARD SPUN and same reversed.

And it is not end of the world if the bet does not come through. There are enough races everyday to get the bet pay offs. Bye. Good luck.

Here's how it'll happen...  ;o)

the gates open and Stormello and Teuflesberg run to the lead.  Coming around the first turn, they battle for first, Scat Daddy waits along along the outside in 4th, Hard Spun is in between some horses in 6th or 7th.  Curlin's in along the rail in 8th with Street Sense next to him in 9th.  Great Hunter's 3 wide on the outside in 11th with Nobiz Like Shobiz right there in 12th.  Tiago is back in 15th with Circular Quay who's 18th.

Tiago and Circular Quay start to run up the outside during the 2nd half backstretch where Great Hunter has already moved up to about 6th.  Stormello and Teuflesberg still lead with Scat Daddy tucked in behind them and Hard Spun, Curlin, and Street Sense, all in a line sharing the 7th spot.  Nobiz is outside of them in 9th.

Going around the last turn, Scat Daddy comes 3 wide to pass Stormello and Teuflesberg with Hard Spun following  right behind him.  At the top of the stretch Stormello and Teuflesberg start to fade.  Street Sense squeezes between them with Curlin following.  Tiago and Circular Quay are making a hard run up the outside.

Scat Daddy leads by a half length with Hard Spun on his outside in 2nd.  Curlin has passed Street Sense, but they're a length back from Hard Spun.  Circular Quay is still charging up the outside... he's passed Tiago and he's about to overtake Street Sense.

Coming to the line Scat Daddy has a length lead over Hard Spun with Circular Quay still charging up the outside.  He's passed Street Sense and he battles Curlin as they come up on Hard Spun.  But it's SCAT DADDY who hits the line first!  Circular Quay a half length back in 2nd with just a neck in front of Hard Spun and Curlin who photo for 3rd and 4th.  A length back to Street Sense in 5th with Tiago, Nobiz, Great Hunter, and Any Given Saturday who are all within a length of each other.

Why?

The Scat Daddy and Edgar Prado combination is just unbeatable...  Edgar will give Scat Daddy a perfect trip, sending him to the lead at the top of the stretch.  Hard Spun has had lightening work outs at Churchill.  Circular Quay makes amazing runs up the outside, but he just gets too lazy in the first half of the race...  he gets 2nd because he doesn't fall to last in the first half because he's a little fresh from his 8 week layoff.  Curlin's got a pretty strong stretch run, but he's never run against anyone so good as Scatty, Hard Spun, Circular, Street Sense...  Street Sense makes a decent run, but he can't get that perfect run he got in the Juvie because he can't run the rail all the way around.

Illinois Derby winner Cowtown Cat is going to come up big Saturday. He is improving, coming out of gate six, will rate slightly off the pace and win in a memorable race - not by time - where in the last 1/8 nearly half the field will be lining up for a trip to the winner's circle......hopefully the photo finish machine is working.
