Nadal is still the man to beat in men's and in women's, its a wide open race now that Justine Henin has retired...who do you pick to win this year in both men's and women's? your thoughts please...

  1. Well it's a tricky question but for mens I would say Nadal, just because he has such a history at the French. He has never lost a match there and is on good form. I think if he rests this week he will have a pretty comfortable win there. Federer is playing well but over a best of 5 match I don't think he has a chance.

In the womens it will be between Sharapova, Ivanavic and Jankovic, probably Sharapova though.

  2. Rafa Nadal and Jelena Jankovic!

  3. Definitely Nadal, he's won it for 3 years now!! For woman I would say Ivanovic or Sharapova, we'll soon know!!!

  4. ON the men's side..i am as  like others....RAFA for sure...

on the women's side...the draw is quite open...as it always was in other slams except French Open....I have 3 main pics....Jelena Jankovic is right now on top of her game...Serena is my 2nd contender...coz she seems to be finally finding her TOUCH back.....Maria Sharapova is an ABSOLUTELY FIERCE competitor on clay especially.....for me..Dinara Safina is a perfect DARK HORSE...naah no one else...

  5. rafael nadal and maria sharapova

  6. I'll take Federer for the men's because everyone forgets that next to Nadal he's the best clay court player on the tour. People think because he lost in Hamburg, he doesn't stand a chance at Roland Garros, which is why he'll win, he'll be motivated to go out their and play his heart out and shutup his critics.Of course Nadal is still king of clay and there's always a chance he could win his fourth french, and my dark horse surprise men's champion I think could be maybe Marat Safin, David Fererr, or David Nalbandian. As for the women, my pick is Serena, she's playing outstanding tennis this year and out of all the women she's the best clay court player and she's won the french open twice, once in singles, the other in doubles and she's got so many clay court titles. Serena is so incredibly focused and she wants another grandslam so badly and she won't quit until she wins another one. If she doesn't win, then my second pick would be Ivanovic, and my dark horse surprise champ would be Alize Cornet.

  7. Men- Nadal and women- Sharapova! :)

  8. men

obviously Nadal    the reason i am saying this is because of Federer's  strategy  of approaching the net every two minuter its not grass court   if u saw  the match yesterday except for few cases he was not successfull in net points   so it will be nadal  djokovic can be a surprise champ but there are less chances

    women

final will consists of a serbian and a william sister9most probably serena and ivanovic) and then i think ivanovic might win she has a strong chance especially    if she plays like what she did last year

  9. Nadal hes like the maddest clay court player (he won 3 french open titles in a row)

4 girls i guess maria sharapovic

  10. rafa and either ivanovic/jankovic

  11. Men: Roger Federer

Women: Maria Sharapova (I hate her though, I wish it was Ana Ivanovic).

  12. nadal and serena

  13. Roger and Maria

  14. men's- nadal, federer, djokovic, davydenko, almagro, ferrer, wawrinka, Gonzalez

women's- sharapova, ivanovic, jankovic, Serena, zvonareva, dementieva, safina, cornet

  15. Federer and who the h**l cares about the womans side. Listen Federer is the smartest player in the past 20 years in tennis. He knows ho to decieve people. EXAMPLE. In 06 before the austrialian open,(other aussi tourny) federer PURPOSLY lost to roddick to make him believe he can do it, and really when you win as many as federer, some lousy tournament isnt worth much if its not a grand slam. Federer is doing the same to NADAL right now. He let him win in the rome masters, he didnt run after the balls and nadal is tired. Played all ranked player sin rome, 3 hour match with the joke Djokavic then plays federer in 3 sets. Pls spare me

  16. Gasquet

    Ivanovic

  17. i am going to pick nadal for the men.. its so obvious right now

and for the women i am thinking either jelena jankovic or maria sharpova

  18. sharapova or jankovic...

    nadal or djokovic..

serena will just be a quarterfinalist........

  19. All must go with Nadal, The King of Clay. However a few can cause a surprise. They are, Ferrer, Davydenko, Gonzalez, Almagro, and of course Federer ( will he be a surprise though? ).

For the women, it is a wide open race for the title, even if Henin was playing. If healthy, and back is fine, first I go with Serena cause when healthy she is the one to beat, despite ranking. Then I am going with the likes of Ivanovic, Jankovic, Dementieva, Zvenoreva. Will be a most interesting tournament for sure.

  20. Roger Federer and Serena Williams.
