  1. its gonna be very hard for the southern hemisphere teams to come to France and dominate. as we have seen in the past when south Africa, new zealand or Australia come and play in Europe its very close games with not allot separating two teams. France is very strong at home and the thrashing they took doesn't mean anything. new zealand showed in the weekend that they are not unbeatable. south Africa is playing good rugby but they are facing injury problems so you cant take these tri-nation games into consideration. at the world cup Ireland and wales will be a strong team. England i don't see them winning this year. in the end i would say the semis will be south Africa, new zealand, Australia and France but don't count Ireland and wales out cause they will play their hearts out in the world cup. i think the south Africa with no injuries can win this world cup.

  2. New Zeland vs South Africa will be the final and if New Zealand choke again then South Africa will win!

  3. Some interesting answers here.

It's a difficult one, recent matches have not really indicated that much with no 2 nations actually fielding full strength teams that you would expect to see at the RWC.

The thing I am pretty certain about, and absolutely hate to admit but I have to be realistic is that it will not be England. We will do well to get to a 1/4 final and exceed all hopes to get to a semi.

Ireland might be a dark horse, they have an excellent blend of youth and experience but I worry about their depth.

  4. I hope NZ win. But on any given day NZ, SA, Australia, France, Ireland and even England can beat each other if they all have a bit of luck.

My head and heart says NZ, but we'll see. NZ better win the 2011 RWC though, its on home soil...

  5. Wales!!!!!

  6. Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. I think its between New Zealand and South Africa. New Zealand is a challenging team but  my hopes are on the bokke.

  8. Best bet will be the All Blacks but with France hosting it I wouldnt put it past them to be a spoiler...Would love to see the US score a couple of tries though and make a show of it in some of their matches...

  9. New Zealand wil win this years World Cup.

Irelandwould be my underdogs as well as France as they are the host nation.

  10. SCOTLAND !

  11. new zealand easily!

  12. NZ!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. south africa for sure. ever heard of steyn, habana, and big vic matfield.

  14. The team with the most points.  Thanks folks, I'll be here all week.  Don't forget to tip the wait staff.

  15. not sure whos gonna win but the two semi finals will be new zealand v australia and south africa v france

  16. South Africa have looked good in South Africa and Australia have looked good in Australia but I still think they would struggle against New Zealand on neutral ground. France have been poor of late but there is always a chance of them having one of their great games. Apart from these teams, the only team I think have even a slight chance of beating the All Blacks is Argentina. It's still NZ for me.

  17. man i do respect the all blacks and that but i can't believe no1 has ever heard of fiji and the skills they have. It's Fiji all the way home. Hail Fiji Hail. Fiji Fiji Fiji. lol i m rooting for waisale serevi and his wonderful team of players to win this one. It would be nice to see NZ lose in the pool games and not reach quarter or semi finals. lol

  18. To be completely honest, the friendly test matches were not a good indication of strong teams. SA vs ENG (Englands team was a lot of in-experienced young players, in both games. SA vs Samoa... Its Samoa, nuff said...

As for the Tri-Nations, SA beat Aus, SA lost to NZ and then AUS beat NZ. Makes for a terrible bet... The IRB world ranking is not a true ranking as like I said, England had a weaker team than normal... I really think that NZ could possibly take it... The Final match, I say its gonna be NZ vs SA

  19. its gonna be new zealand but dats not da point.IRELAND are in no way an underdog de are da only big10(6nations,tri nations nd argies) team 2 have da same squad 4 da last 4yrs which means de no how 2 play together.ok yeah da front row is a weakness but o'connell is the best 2nd row in the wrld nd no rugby players plays wit more heart than him.o callaghan is top5 in da wrld aswell.dennis leamy is an utter beast nd david wallace is a great 7.neil best is like chabal part 2.stringer is gutsy nd o'gara is consistent.nd den the bk line is probably the best in the wrld.drico nd darcy r de best centre partnership in the wrld nd horgan, hickey nd dempsey(btw catchs everyting dat gets kicked at him) r great so dnt call dem underdogs.if NZ slip up the winner will come from da france ireland argie group im tellin ye

  20. its goin 2 be 1 ov the top teams nz south africa or astrailia but *** on wales

  21. England mate johhnie is crazy with the feet man

  22. ~ I would really love to see a team other - than the normal heavyweights of international rugby - cause a huge upset at least around the quarter/semi final stages.

Wouldn't it be great to see a Pacific Island nation like Samoa or Tonga or Scotland/Ireland/Wales make it to the semi finals? Even further?

Remember the inital weeks of the RWC 2003 when the tournament was being slammed for being boring and nothing more than the sieving out of the minnows?  Now there's talk of reducing the number of teams that will compete at future RWC's!

At the Grand Final stage I too agree that it is going to be a NZ & SA Final but as was evident last week ~ Australia can always spoil the party!  However I'm putting my money on the All Blacks! ~
