Man that division is just crazy good!  Before the Artest trade i would emphatically say the Hornets- but now i think the Rockets could take the division if they can stay healthy and develop some good chemistry.  Having Battier, Landry and Mutombo off the bench makes them such a tough defense team that has enough scoring as well.  If healthy- they are one of the scarier teams in the NBA on paper.

Hornets.....spurs maybe, rockets overrated and tmac chokes, mavs are on decline.

Rockets; with Yao Ming, Ron Artest, Shane Battier, Tracy McGrady and Rafer Alston

With Yao Ming at hoop and spreading the 4 other players, they have 4 perimeter shooters, they can be very successful.

Spurs need more solid players to compete with Rockets and Lakers in playoffs

Mavericks missing a good center and small forward because without those they are way out of the league against the others in southwest.

Hornets is a decent team but would need to consider a good shooting guard to compete with Kobe and the Lakers
