brewers for sure. they may have cooled down a bit right now but in a couple of weeks they will be on fire and may even win the central. either way the brewers make the playoffs this year guaranteed

It will surely NOT come out of the east.

Don't count out (or trust) LaRussa in a short series, particularly against Yost (and Ricki Weeks).

On paper the Brewers look good of course, and the Cubs will find a way to lose, so it is possible the Cubs will be the wildcard (Brewers play six more games and payback should be terrible to behold).

EDIT: probably not clear on my comment about LaRussa. I think he is the best manager of all time, but even he can't pull this one off.

If not getting into the playoffs would help get rid of Yost and Weeks I'm actually all for it . . . what's one more year of frustration as opposed to, say Cubs fans? (and if my Cubs fan nemesis decides to chime in . . .  hey put your tinfoil hat back on before you start raving again . .   the voices will stop that way).

Cardinals will win....even though they didnt a trade before the deadline, Carpenter is back with Wainwright due back next week. The Brewers will self destruct and finish about 10 games back of the Cubs. The NL East will beat each other up and the Cards will slide into the wild card position.

i say St. Louis. Wainwright will come back and with Carpenter on the mound and Kyle Loshe we;'ll be unbeatable. and Pujols Ankiel and Ludwick we've got a home run hitting team.
