Who wins the olympics?

Is it overall medal count or gold medals, or is there a point system involved?

Offically there is no winner, but International views have Gold Medal Count as most important, so China won with USA in Second. But I think many would agree that Jamaica gets a honorable Mention because of Bolts history making performance.

The individual athletes and competitiors are the winners. It's against the spirit of the olympics to say that there is an overall winner, and it's ridiculous! It should be about the pride of the athletes and their countries.

The IOC official statement is that they do not designate ramkings by country.

But for the rest of us I'd say China won most golds, US did well with most medals, and Russia, Australia and S Korea performed well, and also UK.  All winners.

That's an interesting question.  Never thought about it before.  I think whoever makes the most money from the games is the winner.

For the sake of getting more thumb-ups I would say Team America has won from all angles and Team China is an absolute loser in all events.

Each country and most importantly its people win a medal table of their own. The competing athletes, no matter winning or losing (cheating not included) and the volunteers should be proud of by all people around the world.

Plus Team China has done great and they are not a loser.
