I think either Secretariat or Seattle Slew! Secretariat set the record at Churchill Downs for 1 1/4 mile in 1:59 2/5!! But Seattle Slew had guts and a heart!!!

wow tough call secretariat was an incredible race horse, but spectacular bid does hold the world record at a mile and a quarter. so I guess  I'd have to say spectacular bid.

I'm going with mom on this. She was there live when Secretariat pulled away and blew away the competition. He can beat any horse, any day, any condition. Only requirement is a breathing jockey.
