  1. Quepos is well know for sport fishing.  Quepos is also home to the worl dknown Parque Nacional Manuel Antonio.  $7 entrance fee to a beautiful world of rainforest meets the ocean and calm waters to swim in.  Stay a bit out of town for the nicer places with a pool to relax in.  Check out Mono Azul.  I am returning to Costa Rica in March and will be going to Quepos to enjoy the park.  Yep, silly gringa tourist, but the calm waters are worth it.  There are many other things to do as well in case you are in a group of varied interests.  One of the neatest things about Quepos is the road there.  As you get cloer to Quepos the road is surrounded by palm oil trees that were planted after the banana blight as a new way to make money.  Line after line of big palm trees that were brought from Africa to boost the economy.  Nifty huh?

  2. first of all r u the one interested or r u doing research for your boyfriend?? cause if not, i am single and looking and love fishing!!!

i was just there with a buddy of mine back in december and we caught a few sails, and raised 1 blue marlin.

the time to go varies on where u want to fish, but i really like going out of quepos. in fact we will be back in late march into april and definitely going out again from there!!!

one good thing about the sails in costa rica is that they all  are nice size fish!!! i go there quite a bit if u need more info just e-mail me.

    c-ya

  3. Fishing is great up and down the coast.  My friend Capt. Bob, caught 5 marlin and 14 sail, 15 dorado, several jack 5 rooster fish and more  this past week, and he only fished 4 days.  Now is the time.  I live in Golfito in the southern zone.  Fishing is a bit cheaper here than in the more touristy areas.  Try running a search to check prices.  You can write to Capt. Bob   at

Enjoy your trip.  If you have too many fish I have a big freezer  lol

  4. If you want to go to the best marlin/sailfish fishing place in the world you should go to Guatemala. Cheaper than Costa Rica and you are guaranteed to catch a sailfish...
