  1. What ^ He Said

  2. Mickey Ward won. In the future, check out the link below for questions like that one.

  3. Ward won in a GREAT fight.  As I said, some fights you watch sitting down, some you watch on the edge of your seat, and others you watch on your feet, compelled by the tremendous action that I was watching.

Ward scored a knockdown in the 9th round.  If you can find this round on youtube, watch it now!!!  Ward drops Gatti with a body shot early.  Gatti barely beats the count and absorbs a beating from Ward but then fires back and pummels Ward throughout the middle of the round.  And then Ward comes back strong at the end of the 9th where you can hear Jim Lampley (the HBO commentator) saying "Stop it Frank" (referee Frank Cappucino).  Buddy McGirt, Gatti's trainer, was about to climb the steps and throw in the towel, but Pat Lynch who had been with Gatti for a long time, stopped him from doing so.  Gatti stormed out to win the 10th round.  It was great!!!

Ward won the decision and it lead to 2 more great fights.  I had the honor of attending the 3rd fight.  And while it wasn't as great as the first, it was still breathtaking!!!

  4. In their first fight on 5/18/2002, Mickey Ward defeated Arturo Gatti by a 10 round majority decision with scores 95-93, 94-93, and 94-94.
