Martin Kaymer won the Abu Dhabi Championship, edging out Ian Poulter by one stroke to take the title for the second time in three years. Rory McIlroy was a further shot behind in third. Kaymer birdied the 18th to take a final round of 66, finishing 21-under-par in total. The victory was enough to propel the German from 14th to 6th in the world rankings. The 25-year-old says that claiming a place on the Ryder Cup team is now his main focus for 2010.
