A bogey at the 18th wasn't enough to scupper South Africa's Charl Schwartzel's long wait for victory, as he triumphed at the Africa Open, finishing on 20-under overall to beat countryman Thomas Aiken by one stroke. The 25-year-old had been favourite for the event at the Eastern Cape's East London Golf Club, but will be relieved to have secured the Open after a series of near-misses in 2009. Although Schwartzel enjoyed seven top-ten finishes last year, he didn't actually win any tournaments.
