There were doubts if Karlsson would ever play the game again after an eye injury curtailed his season, but yesterday the 40-year-old Swede completed a remarkable comeback to win the Qatar Masters at Doha by three strokes. Karlsson finished seven-under-65 on the day – bogey-free, and the best round of the week to boot – to finish 15-under in total to comfortably beat defending champion Alvaro Quiros, who finished second.
