  1. China achieved the highest amount of gold medals.

    However, USA achieved the highest amount of medals in total.


  2. China topped the medal table, but they do have the worlds largest population at 1.3 billion. Maybe the country who wins the most golds per capita should be crowned overall winner.

  3. well its disputed how they should award a winner tthe to options r:

    1)base it on total medals won, which would be america

    2)base it on most gold medals which would be china

  4. It depends on how you look at it. If you're looking at TOTAL medals the United States is in the lead with 110 medals to China's 100. If you look at just GOLD medals then it is China with 51 to the US' 36.



    If you follow a system where gold=3, silver=2, and bronze=1 then China is  in the lead with 223 to the US' 220.

    So really, it's how you measure "winning."

  5. i think we should give some of the little guys credit, im sick of hearing the U.S. won or China won. ok they won, but what significants does that give them? more limelight? theres countries in this olympics that won their first gold, even their first medal which gives them that little ounce of spotlight on them just so the world can know that they exist. to China and the US the olympics means more publicity, but to other countries, it means a chance of a lifetime.
