  1. New Zealand continued their relentless charge towards the 2006 Tri-Nations title with a 13-9 win over Australia in Brisbane.

The Wallabies looked threatening early on, keeping possession and their pressure of the New Zealand defence paid off when they took the lead through a Stirling Mortlock penalty.

But a brilliant solo try by Joe Rokocoko just seconds later and the conversion from the ever-reliable Daniel Carter saw the All Black's take a lead which they never relinquished.

Rokocoko – scoring his first international try in a year – received the ball and side stepped both Rocky Elsom and Chris Latham before his blistering run took him over the line.

Carter racked up the rest of the points for New Zealand, courtesy of a penalty in the first half and a drop goal after the break.

Australia looked much stronger than they did three weeks ago when they were decimated by New Zealand, but failed convert the opportunities they created; their only points after the try coming from two further Mortlock penalties.

New Zealand – who have now won three out of three in this year's tournament – remain at the top of the table with 13 points from second placed Australia who have 6 points. South Africa are yet to register having lost two out of two.

The next match sees Australia host the Springboks in Sydney next weekend.
