  1. Collingwood 1990.

  2. Essendon

  3. The Bombers. No I have no idea

  4. It was Norwood, winning over Port Adelaide on October 7, 1889. This decided the premiership, as the teams had been tied in wins and goals (in that time, premierships were determined by end-of-season rankings). This was also possibly the first Grand Final of any sport, not just footy.

EDIT: Er, yeah, the question does specify the AFL grand final, so refer to hayley_b_3's answer.

  5. the first AFL grandfinal was won by collingwood and the first VFL grandfinal was won by essendon

  6. The AFL started in 1990 & Collingwood beat Essendon in the Grand Final. The previous VFL started in 1897 and Essendon beat Fitzroy in the GF

  7. I know my footy history. The start of the competition that we know was in 1897 known as the VFL, and Essendon won it. At that stage though, there was only 8 teams - Essendon, Carlton, St Kilda, Fitzroy, Geelong, Collingwood, Melbourne and South Melbourne. There were others added as time went on.

  8. Collingwood

  9. in 1896, the VFL was played in a round robin competition between a few clubs.

Essendon came out the winners after the round robin competition.

However, the 1st REAL competition year was 1897 and it was played in the same format. Again, Essendon won. It was only a trial in 1896 to see if anyone would come to watch the games.....obviously, 150-300 people was a good crowd in those days!
