  1. the women's marathon of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games was won by ROMANIA's Constantina Tomescu with a time of 2:26:44. Catherine Ndereba of KENYA wins the silver medal in 2:27:06 while CHINA's Zhou Chunxiu finish in 3rd place & a bronze medal with 2:27:07.

Paula Radcliffe of GREAT BRITAIN finish in 23rd place with a time of 2:32:38.

  2. did you try http://www.google.com ?

don't mean to be snarky...but you know... as for Radcliff, she finished 23rd after having to stop and stretch at least once.  not bad considering she almost had to drop out after having pains almost immediately!  she suffered a stress fracture earlier this year AND a broken leg in may but still managed to be fit to race for Beijing.

  3. Constantina Ghita Tomescu from Romania

  4. No, it was Constantina from Romania with a 2:24:44 time. She gave an unbelievable performance and was ahead of the pack for seven miles.  She never slowed down.  The second-place runner from  Kenya could only narrow the time by 20 seconds.

It was a wonderful event to watch and one of my top ten events for this Olympics.

  5. paula came 23rd in the marathon she was very disapointed, u cn find results on the BBC SPORT webpage

  6. The same thing happened to Paula Radcliffe as happens in every race where she has no pacemakers and there is no appearance or prize money. She had an "injury" which meant she didn't win.

She arrived 48 hours before her event and left 24 hours after it.

Didn't participate in the opening or closing ceremonies, stayed in a luxury hotel instead of the Olympic village and didn't go to the stadium to cheer on otherBritishh athletes.

  7. I beleive Paula didnt qualify?!? I could be wrong...

  8. 1st was Constantina Ghita from Romania with a 2:24:44 time

3rd China's Zhou Chunxiu finish in 3rd place with 2:27:07.

Paula finished 23rd with a time of 2:32:38.
