Juventus won 4-1

Juventus went to the half-time break with a 1-0 lead, after a bullet header from Nicola Legrottaglie. Hernandez then levelled with his bending drive just before the hour.

He was again in the action shortly afterwards when he was brought down in the box but his appeals for a penalty were ignored by referee Ben Williams.

However, the Italians were soon ahead 2-1 when they were awarded a penalty after Sebastian Ryall was judged to have cut down Marco Marchionni.

Palladino converted from the spot-kick, his shot deflecting in off the bottom of the post as he sent Michael Theoklitos the wrong way.

Marco Marchionni then put the game out of Melbourne's reach with a well-timed leap and header past Theoklitos in the final minutes.

Palladino, who showed his class all night, scoring his second as the Italian visitors ran the home side ragged in injury time.

Victory's defence was tested for much of the night and Juventus showed the difference in leagues from the start, even if it was a second-string side.
