Great question. Theorectically the allies. But deeper is the losses.. the jews, the french, all the families that lost someone, the families that were uprooted on both sides of the war, the german people, the japanese people, the polish, the women left behind, the women pushed to become nurses, the women made into laborers then unemployed when the men came back... the brits. all the island cultures forced to put up with invading japanese and americans.. the devasting losses of soldiers , whole generations, on both sides.. hiroshima and nagasaki!!! WOW! I could go on... and then how long did the berlin wall stay up and keep a whole people cut off from the world??? Almost forgot the russians!
