Question:

Who would I contact if I had an idea for a prototype board game?

I have a board game that I created that friends and I play a lot, and I was wondering if I contacted a company that marketed games like this, if they would consider marketing it. Maybe even a software company that could turn it into a sort of computer game. I don't plan on making any real money, but I mean every bit counts when you have to pay for college. Coming up with the idea for a board game seems rather easy so I don't have that much faith that mine would be any different, but what are your thoughts?

  1. I would first talk to a patent lawyer. Then Parker Brothers and Milton Bradley

Good Luck! You could be a millionaire soon!

  2. I'd contact smaller game companies and see about submitting an idea to them.  If you're really serious about it I'd suggest going to GenCon which is a giant gaming convention that'll be in Indianapolis next month.  Reps from many smaller companies will be there and if you find one that seems to be a good fit for your prototype they may at least look at it.  On the other hand, unless you live near Indy it may not be worth it for you to go to all that trouble.  In that case I'd contact a smaller company via e-mail and see if someone's willing to look at a mailed- in submission.

  3. contact 'milton bradley' game company tell them to pay u a good amount of $money$ get riche and justtsrat your game, milton bradley llead games corporation makes millions

  4. A lot of game inventors go to gamer conventions to demo their games in order to be found.  Origins Game Fair is a great start but it just ended.  GenCon is another place to start.  Also you can contact different companies.  Our company looks at Simple to learn family fun games.  Most companies will have procedures in place for submitting games.

Below is a listing of board game companies.  This is not an entire list but it is a starting point.

    Good Luck!!!  Happy Gaming!!!

  5. well first you just write it down and have your prototype copyrighted just in case. So when you send it for submission no one will take you idea and pass it off as their own from there i have no idea but i hope this gives you a little jumpstart.
