Who would I contact if I wanted to sell my black walnut tree? It's got 4 trunks coming out of one spot.

People keep telling me it's probably worth something, but I don't know who that somebody would be. I was thinking about cutting it down and using it in my fire place this winter to ease on the heating costs. Who knows? Maybe you do.

Contact someone in your area who sells firewood.  They may not give you a lot for the wood, since it will be a while before they can sell it (green wood doesn't burn well), but it's worth a try.  Walnut is a good firewood.  You could also see if anyone in your area makes custom furniture; they may be interested.
