  1. I would agree with you, but the most dominant pitcher is Cliff Lee. The stats don't lie. 14 wins to lead the majors and a very good K to BB ratio. Other star pitchers that I also like out there are Tim Lincecum, Dan Haren, Dice-K, and Carlos Zambrano. O ya, don't forget about  Ben sheets and Roy Halladay. These pitchers don't lose much at all, they have over 10 wins and over 100 k's. If you actually watch them pitch, they are unbelievable to watch. They also have ERAs under 3. Pretty impressive. People don't realize that  2 years ago, Cliff lee won 18 games. In  the long run, I think Dice-K will have the best career becuase of his great lineup to support him. Right now though, Cliff Lee is the best.

  2. You are right. There is no dominant pitcher these days. Cliff Lee is deserving of the best pitcher this year though. 14 wins, a 2.29 era and a whip of 1.03. Very shocking for a guy who struggled all of last season.

  3. Tim Lincecum or Brandon Webb  are definitely the dominant pitchers right now.

  4. C.C. Sabbathia

  5. i think Josh Beckett is an Outstanding pitcher, so is Frankie Rodriguez, although he is only a closer.

  6. Tim Lincecum

  7. Tim lintecum

  8. Roy Halladay.

He may not be has dominate with the Ks as a Tim Lincecum but this guy is such a complete pitcher.

His K rate has skyrocketed this year but the walks are still down so he obviously still got his incredible command, but just more wicked stuff. I mean almost a 7-1 K/BB rate. That is INSANE.  But the thing that makes the Doc the best is that he is a horse. He has 7 CGs. In this generation of baseball, that's really remarkable. His ability to go out there every game and go pitch 7, 8 or even 9 innings every time makes him the best pitcher this year.

  9. i say cliff lee

  10. Brandon Webb or Carlos Zambrano...

  11. Now that you mention it, there really isn't anyone that comes right to mind as super dominant.  I mean, Cliff Lee and Brandon Webb have been impressive this year, but no where near those pitchers you mentioned.  I've also been really disappointed in Josh Beckett this year.  I know he has gotten absolutely NO run support in most of his starts, but he isn't anywhere near where I had hoped he'd be at this point in the season.  I guess if I had to pick the most dominant is would have to be Cliff Lee.

  12. I don't know much about sports, but isn't the "best" pitcher the one with the best win record, or the losest ERA, and better yet, be best in both categories?

Don't the best pitchers change from year to year?

Why must one pitcher dominate the leagues?

IMO, baseball would be better, with higher quality players in all positions, not just with one or two Cobbs, Ruths, or Mantle's.

Same thing goes for pitching.  I wish the K.c. Royals had a Pedro Martinez, but when you can win without the 'hotshot" on the mound, it does speak better for the rest of the team's efforts, IMO.

  13. Dan Haren.

  14. What about Edison Valquez? He is having a Cy Young award season.

  15. lincecum in NL, justin duchserer (can't spell his name). both are 2nd in leagues in ERA, lin. in 11-3 2.78, duc. is 10-7 (only one bad start, all other starts less than 3 runs given up), 2.37. lincecum has the most k's. 156, 18 ahead of 2nd place fellow giant matt cain. should i go on??????

  16. "John Lackey".

All that he seems able to do is win! And he wins against the commonly, by all the experts accepted, best Division in AL baseball.

    Explanations, by any one, please?

  17. id say cc sabathia right now

  18. Joba Chamberlain. i live in Nebraska and i've seen wat this dude can do. He'll be at the tops soon. But right now CC by far.

  19. SIDNEY PONSON!!!!!!

HAVE YOU SEEN HIS AWESOME SINKER THAT HANGS?

  20. If there was one game to win, I would take Joba Chamberlain.

    -edit-

    4-3 record not good, but...

    2.24ERA

    84.1innings and 99 strikeouts

10.59 strikeouts per 9 innings. Pretty Good.

  21. I think Carlos Zambrano, before Monday night I probably would have said CC Sabathia but the cubs hit him pretty hard. Also with Carlos's outing Tuesday night hold one of the best power hitting teams in the NL to no runs I believe he is the best in the NL.
