I don't know how the math would work but something like 10% of income taken out in taxes. Maybe it could be less for the bottom 10% of wage earners. I just think it would be simple and fair.

  1. I would be for a flat sales tax.

  2. Not a flat income tax, but a flat sales tax.  Sales tax hits everyone, even drug dealers, illegal immigrants, and under-the-table workers.  Income tax only hits those who declare income.

Good luck getting politicians to support it, though.  Democrats bank on getting votes of stupid middle class Americans who believe they're "poor" and that the "rich" who'll get taxes increased on them isn't them.

The Democrats dupe people into thinking there's some big, bad group of rich people out there to blame everything on.  Everyone is jealous of the wealthy and successful and uses these imaginary people as scape goats.  Democrats count on the votes of these people.

Aestro17, A flat tax would still get more money out of the rich.  If Person A makes ten times more than Person B, Person A would still be paying 10 times the tax.  If you're ok with half your money being taken, then give half of yours to the government.

How does millionaires pi$$ing their money down the government toilet instead of investing it in our stocks and economy (as they do to shelter it from taxes) sound like a good idea to you???  Rich people's money is much better off working to better our economy in stocks, real estate, and investments.  It betters all of us and creates jobs and opportunities for all of us.  When they invest, stocks go up, and our stocks also go up.

Only morons believe that the government needs more money than it already has or that some welfare guy getting a check does more good than a billionaire creating 1000 jobs by investing his profits into a company!

  3. I'm a flat tax proponent. As far as I am concerned no one should pay a different tax percentage then another. In fact I'd much rather see a national sales tax, rather then an income tax, that way we can regulate how much money the government gets. There is far to large a government, doing far more then it should in a free country. Let's get back to individuals governing themselves within the guidelines of the states, and our rights up held by the protections guaranteed by the constitution. The federal government has become too big and too intrusive into state and individual rights.

  4. Definite flat tax.

I like the idea of totaling up the cost of running the government, divide that by the number of adults and send everyone a bill.  If everybody had to pay the same amount then you can bet all the low income people would be johnny on the spot when it comes to voting for fiscally responsible politicians and not these spend for the moon jackals we have now.

  5. I would definitely take it into consideration...

But the HandR Block lobbyists won't.

Who makes a lot of money during tax season.. hmm.. who...

  6. Why would anyone want to voluntarily tax the rich less?  If you're making ten million dollars a year, and lose half of that to taxes, guess what?  You're still making five million a year and better off than the vast majority of Americans.

A flat tax would hurt nearly everyone in America.

  7. I would be in favor of tax reform for sure. But I feel the FAIR TAX would be the best. Eliminate all the taxes that everyone has to pay on all income and businesses, and simply tax spending.  Illegals would be forced to pay taxes now, because they can not help but to buy things they need essential for survival. We can eliminate the IRS.  It costs hundreds of millions to operate the dysfunctional IRS yearly, while they miss on collecting hundreds of millions more.   Scholars and Economists of all and no political associations have crafted this over years.  Even welfare has a home in the Fair Tax, (which I don't agree with) but its there. Please people just go to FAIRTAX.org and read the intro.  Its free to sign up and it would benefit everyone. Bring business back home to America.

  8. There is no reason for federal income tax.  We should be paying minimal state taxes, and the states should pay Washington.

The more money you give politicians, the more they'll spend.

The way that our tax dollars are wasted now-a-days makes me SICK.
