Question:

Who would be interested in participating in civil obedience tactics?

I'm thinking of trying to organise a national day of civil obedience. I'm talking about a pedantic approach to address the way we, the people are getting ripped off at the moment.

Here's my thinking: In the past, people have attempted blockades, demonstrations, even riots to try and influence the government. The problem is, though, that you end up breaking the law, so most people back down and the hard core get criminalised and put away so it doesn't happen again.

So what if, we all decided to take public transport to work on a given day? What if, on that day, every time we saw a criminal offence occuring, we used Section 3 of the criminal law Act to detain the offender(s) - using force if neccessary, until a police officer arrived? What if we all worked to rule? No expensive overtime, no breach of the European working directive, no illegal workers permitted on site?

Would you be willing to have a go?

  1. No scabs you mean. Unions are help.

To abolish war would change things. Ask Would You Die for Peace. March for Peace. Then ask people if they are willing to risk bullets in warzones marching unarmed and taking bullets to convince people war should be abolished. The affect on soldiers shooting at unarmed people passively accepting bullets could be quite great. Training to desensitize soldiers could take place after but the point is to die for Peace not war. To be effective it would have to take place world wide. People would require funds. Governments might miscontrue such efforts as they think only in terms of people organizing to cause harm not prevent it. The idea of Organizing to abolish war is not a though most Governments have thought on. If you are not afraid of terrorists they will lose besides a movement to abolish war is an alternitive to the other and  people might respond  to it better.

  2. Da....WHAT!!!!!

  3. No.

    Why?

    What is your objective?

Most people do not have access to public transport for starters.

Most people are notr covered by the "European working directive" - whatever that is.

  4. I would, as long as you keep it in Europe?

  5. good idea.we need more revolutionaries in this day and age.all governments need a good kick up the backside and it will keep them on their toes.then the government can say we are listening to the electorate.
