I'm not saying or accusing that he does! In fact, I cheer for him, he is a very powerful swimmer.

But what IF in the future he admitted like Jones, would anyone be surprised? If not, what would your reaction be.

  1. Yes, I would be surprised, because I don't think that he would ever want to disappoint or let down his mother.

  2. Not surprising.

Would it surprise you to find out that Phelps has been genetically manipulated with Sea Lion sperms?

  3. I have respect for any athlete that does what they do. But in this day and age it's very hard to trust them. Anyone knows there is many ways to get around drug test. No matter what the severity in the testing, there's ways. I'm not bashing his credibility but looking at him perform and his physical attributes I would lean towards some sort of enhancer, plus the records that have been broke and the 8 gold medals now???? I don't know.... And why is it almost every Olympic gathering US is almost always in the lead for the medal count? Could politics play a role in the outcome? Kinda like boxing and other sports?

  4. I would be surprised, especially with all the testing they go through. Phelps is clean in my book, but when your number one, there's always people that want to question you and bring you down.

  5. I think he's going off of the drugs called adrenaline, hype, and endorsement dollar signs in his eyes.

If they took a sample of his blood, they may find dollar signs in it, but that's not cheating.

  6. I would be relatively surprised.  As a Chinese-American and a diehard China fan, Michael Phelps is still one of my favorite American athletes to hear about.  I never really liked Marion Jones, as I never really gave her much credibility in the first place.  Phelps is a different story, hearing that he used drugs would be almost as bad as hearing Liu Xiang used drugs.

Oh god I'm going to have nightmares now.

  7. Of course he uses stuff you naive people. But its not on the list. Thats all ;) all sportsmen do some protein shakes, gainers, creatine, l-carnitine or aminos. Its on the edge.

  8. I doubt that will happen because they are being tested way more often and I doubt he would jeopardize his legacy.

  9. I was just talking to a friend yesterday and said the same thing.

I can't decide if I was just being cynical because anyone performing so well in sports nowadays is under suspicion, or if it really is the amazing distance he can go under water plus the way he turns and that weird "dolphin" stroke he does.

I don't think any athlete will be able to excel in the future without being looked at with suspicion.

  10. Yes, I would, especially with the rigorous amount of testing they do. He's just a freak, he trains hard and those who say he is a drug cheat must find it hard to believe that someone can be that good  naturally though hard work.

  11. i would be surprised. hes not all pumped up on roids, you can tell when someone is.

  12. I'm an Australian and I love watching the Olympics.

Phelps is really talented, and of course in races where he beats some Australians I am disappointed, but who wouldn't be if they weren't supporting America?

He is truly an amazing swimmer, I don't think he'd be using any form of performance enhancing drugs. It's from his hard work and effort, and dedication. And he's naturally talented!

It's annoying when people think straight away that athletes are on drugs as soon as they have a good performance, isn't it?!

    Haha.

    Phelps is fair amazing haha.

  13. I would be very surprised. He does not seem like the steroids type of guy. I think his success comes from all his hard work!

IF it did turn out that he was doing drugs, then I would seriously start crying!
