Who would be the best choice for Islanders head coach?

I know, theres Hartley, Gordon, Maurice, Torts. Maybe even others as well. what do you think?

I would have to go with Torts or Maurice, but Maurice isn't as proven as Torts. I do believe that Maurice can do a good job though.

Jude is my choice for next Isles coach! Lol! The Islanders can't get any worse...right?

Seriously, even though he deserves better, Bryan Trottier would be an ideal fit for this team. He is patient, there is no urgency to win now, and this gig could be a stepping stone towards a better NHL coaching job.

I think Bryan Trottier would be a great choice, but he has already announced that he doesn't want to do it. I'll go with Torts though. I just hope Snow is doing a good job with the interview process.

Mr. Maurice. He NEVER had a fighting chance in h**l here in Toronto. (btw, this annoying a$s 'new' feature of Answers with the pop up spell checker, is pis$sing me off). He was castrated as soon as he agreed to come to Toronto. Sure he was the face of the Leafs, but he was never TOTALLY in control, as a head coach should be, because of MLSE. He would serve a team well if left alone to make the decisions that needs to be made.

I know it would be really weird, but I think the best guy out there for anyone needing a coach is Dale Hunter.  He's done great things with the Knights, and deserves a shot in the NHL in my opinion.  Torts wouldn't work on the island because let's face it they're ALL about DP now and he isn't exactly a goalie guy.  All the other options are coaches who were fired for very good reasons, and really wouldn't bring much to help the team.

Have to agree with Snoop. I remember him mentioning it one of his questions. Trots would be a good fit, helping the younger players while collecting Social Security Checks with Weight, Sillinger, and Guerin.

Or go with another unknown. Unfortunately, they will probably go with some recycled coach like Maurice.
