  1. You are all wrong. It is Juan Herandez of Argentina.

  2. Dan Carter

  3. well here is a surprise!!  anyone heard of nick farr-jones he was twice the man dc is now. he made mince meat of the ab's on heaps of occasions.bring back memories huh?

  4. Naas Botha

  5. Carlos Spencer

  6. Dan Carter is all round complete package.

Mark Ella was almost as good - probably a better attacking player, so creative

Carlos Spencer was a liability. Creative yes, defence ok-ish, did his team know what he going to do? No!

  7. Dan Carter has got the full skill set. Other than him, Mark Ella, Steve Larkham, Carlos Spencer and Hugo Porta would have to rate right up there.

  8. Based on what we have seen from Dan Carter in his career thus far, i'd have to say he will "eventually" be remembered as the best number 10 when he hangs up his boots..

what he's done in the past, present and the potential to continue doing so in the future is remarkable..

  9. Johnny Wilkinson. He doesn't really take very many runs, but he is one of the best kickers, can kick with both feet and is a very good play maker. Plus he is good at drawing defenders in.

  10. at the moment if he was fit then danny cipriani but otherwise dan carter for the all blacks and that hurt me to say that!

  11. Don Clarke, Fred Michalak, Mickaël Lynagh ......

  12. Dan Carter, mostly kicks well, defends well, and isn't bad at setting up the odd try and he's not finished yet.

  13. I would say Daniel carter. Kicks very accurately and runs good lines and good in game kicks. Johnny is good at what he does kicking penalties. Larkham was a good in game tactician (remember 2003 kick to tuiquiri for 1st finals try). Carlos was creative. Best in 1997. Gave us the banana kick.

  14. IMHO Carlos Spencer, 'coz he was actually a magician...

But  now I would say DC (not Dolce&Gabbana!)... he's a goddamned ******' machine on the field!

In Italy we solved the FH problem just by playing without it, Nick Mallett uses to field a center or a fullback withe #10 jersey!

  15. Pointless comparison.Cliff Morgan,Jackie Kyle,Bev.Risman,Mike Gibson,Jo. Maso,Lescaboura,Barry John,Mark Nicholls,Naas Botha,Bev.Risman,Andrew Mehrtens,Michael Lynagh and even 2 test Nicky Allen could claim at one time or another to be the best in the world but almost all of them would have played under different rules intheir time so comparisons are difficult to make onan even basis. However, the most complete skill sets(tackling,kick,step,pace,handling,vi... and courage to take  the tackle)would belong to Daniel Carter and, in an earlier time,Ireland's Mike Gibson

  16. Grant Fox...awesome...as was Merhts and Spencer but Daniel Carter is more complete than all of them...he defends well, reads the game, kicking game..awesome so I think he has it all....

  17. Dan Carter - and that's saying something because I'm from Auckland!!

Any of you who name an English player like Wilkinson or Cipriani are dreaming.  The question is "who would be the best international number 10 ever?" NOT who is the best international drop kicker?

    Stick to soccer...........

  18. OMG if you watch the All Blacks you would know who the best numba 10 is!!!

    DAN CARTER!!!!!!!

  19. Yeah Daniel Carter also i think Stephen Larkham is pretty good not as good as Carter but good.

  20. Scrote you fool - Nick Farr Jones was a halfback. It's gotta be DC for all round package. More traditional greats such as Fox and Naas Botha were all about kicking.

  21. Steve Larkham easily. Carter cant handle real pressure from top international teams

  22. Jonny at his peak is fantastic.Though it has been a while since we have seen him in the form he showed in 2003.Which I guess being a Kiwi myself,is a good thing haha.

  23. Pigs;  it's Dan Carter, MIGHTY ALL BLACK

  24. Dan Carter for my liking. A great all rounder, pulls off things many others cannot. Just remembering the Lions tour in 2005....

  25. Grant Fox, Joel Stranski,Johnny Wilkinson. all 3 won world cups for thier countries.in style i must add.

  26. It has to be Mark Ella, the guy didn't play that long only 25 caps, but he brought a unique vision, and is the best passing fly half ever.

  27. Carlos Spencer?? Hahaha...Lol. Surely you're joking? As a kicking first five it would be between Grant Fox or Andrew Mehrtens. Mehrtens 1995-2000 was amazing. But as a complete package, it would be...it IS Carter. When he's on, the AB's can't be beaten.

  28. Dan Carter is the best footballer of all number 10s but lacks the Charisma of Fred Michelack and Butch James. So its a race between the three if you simply base it on what a fly half should be doing in a rugby match but Dan Carter swallows both gents with his genius.

Wilkinson - Johnny who? Oh the kicker, is he a rugby player by the way? I don't think he plays Rugby, he just kicks!

  29. DAN CARTER!!!

  30. When Stephen L was injured in '99, Rod K mesmerised the ABs in Sydney.

The Welsh have to win the best providers of the #10: see Phil Bennett and Barry John...great sideies, side steps to die for and could take a head-high like no-one!

Would have liked to have seen the Johns boy from league (Newcastle) have a crack at union.

Mr. Ella was pretty good at #10.

    Naas Botha was good.

Hugo Porter carried a whole nation... almost singlehandedly beat many test sides.

  31. At the mo it's all about DC - thing is he's only been a pro rugby player for such a short time so . . . shouldn't really be trying to compare him to the likes of Larkham, Merts, Ella etc.

I reckon we have'n't seen the best of DC by a long shot. He actually looks bored in the black jumper, stupid errors followed by brilliance - I think a stint in the UK will be the best thing for him.

As for Spencer - DC has all ready out scored him and out classed him.
