Question:

Who would employ me?

I haven't worked for years due to bringing up a family. I don't want to do a boring job but obviously I'm not experienced or highly qualified. Any suggestions on what I could try? Where can I look online for vacancies?

Thanks :)

  1. my wife had the same problem. she always enjoyed working out to workout videos when she got the chance. (watching two children is no easy chore, and exercise enough.)   during this time she studied to get certified in aerobics.  after 6 years of being the CEO of the household, she  is now teaching 8 aerobic classes a week.  My suggestion, find something you would like to do, work to get the proper training, and start off slow if money is not too tight.  good luck!

  2. I would say start at an employment agency. They could help you. But don't forget all the experience you gained while being a domestic engineer. :) You practiced time management, balancing schedules, prioritizing tasks, and negotiating. Anybody who can manage toddlers and/or teens can mange anything!

  3. Get a job at Walmart or something to build your resume.  Keep building it up over time.

  4. I didn't work for years whilst bringing up my family, however I was very lucky and got the first job I went for - and loved it.   I think life experience and common sense go a long way.  Apply for anything that you think you will enjoy.

  5. u shold try a restraunt job at olive garden and work ur way up

only is u like to cook

or if you like to help people

    u can be a..

teacher life guard or some instructer

or if u like to do gardens

    gardener or work at lows

    or something

any thing else well it really just depends on what u like

  6. You need to bring more to the table than that.

If you have no work experience; make some up.  They'll believe you.

  7. You have plenty of experience bringing up a family, maybe consider childminding?

  8. I used to think like that, "who's going to employ somebody like me"  by the time i was 24 i was in 3 different apprenticeships, car mechanics bricklaying and fabrication of which i completed none.  I had to leave my safety bubble and try something new, i sold myself at an interview for a warehouse job which included manual labouring i'm brilliant with my hands so having to hump stuff about instead of fixing and making things was a shock.  12 years since i have never failed at getting work, sell yourself.  Make them think they can't operate without you, pick a job that suits you but above all you have to sell yourself.

  9. Best register yourself with private employment agencies like Manpower and Blue Arrow. Tell them you will take any work going. They will assess you better than you can assess yourself and know what vacancies there are near where you live.
