The candidates are listed alphabetically. Who would do a better job of ending the war safely and responsibly? Please be specific in your answer. Would McCain end the war more responsibly, saving more US and Iraqi lives, or would Obama. This is not a rhetorical trolling question. I'm actually interested in the responses and am not begging the answers.

  1. I believe that Obama will end the war more responsibly and safely than McCain. Obama strong minded democratic ideology will create for the world  justice and equality; above all else the people, which shall involved international community in resolving security issues in other nations. America then as the world most respected police, shall regained her strength in world peace.

  2. A major concern should be Obama's inherent distrust of the military and his unwillingness to stand up to the radical anti-war faction in the Democratic Party.

He declined to meet with General Petraeus when the General was in Washington to report to Congress on the progress of the war, even though the private meeting would have provided Obama with valuable information that he could not otherwise have had access to.

His questioning of the General in the open hearings of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee was grandstanding for the TV cameras as he repeated badgering questions that had already been asked by other Senators.

He later failed to walk down to the Senate floor to vote on a Sense of the Senate Resolution condemning MoveOn.org for an ad they had placed in the New York times calling the Petraeus "General Betray-Us"  for fear of angering MoveOn which has supported his campaign, raised funds for him, and run ads through its 527.

He has aligned himself with the radical left blogs such as Daily Kos, spoke at the Netroots annual conference, and allows campaign staff to blog on their sites.  They are all rapidly anti-war.

He only traveled to Iraq once until goaded into it by McCain.

After making a big deal out saying that he would never make a decision without "listening to the commanders on the ground," he has a one hour meeting with Gen. Petraeus, one of the most brilliant military leaders in generations, and then says that, despite what the general has told him, he's going to do it his own way.

The reason Obama gave was that Petraeus was only looking at the "small picture" of Iraq but as CinC, he would look at the "big picture" and send the troops to Afghanistan.

Why didn't Obama KNOW that Petraeus was head of CENTCOM and had responsibility for that "big picture" that included Afghanistan?

Was that dumb, arrogant or both?

There is NO need to reiterate McCain's history with the war and support for the surge.

He was right.  Bush and Rumsfeld were wrong.  Obama and Biden were wrong.

We would not be in the position of strength we are now without McCain.

He gambled everything on doing what was right, not the politically expedient thing.

He has done this over and over his entire life.

This is a man we know we can trust.

    What more do you want?

  3. I believe Obama would. He has a clear understanding of what needs to be done to ensure everyones safety and Iraqs continued freedom. McCain seems to enjoy the aspect of war and has made callous jokes about bombing Iran. I'm sorry, but war is NOT funny on any level. Lives are lost, people suffer and McCain doesn't seem to 'get' that, in my opinion.

  4. Obama, mccain showed he's going senile by picking Palin.

  5. McCain.

  6. Probably Obama, he would do it sooner

  7. It seems to me Bush cleans his own mess so Iraq is irrelevant at the moment.

For future national security, no question.  John Sidney McCain, a leader we can trust.

  8. I say McCain, they both were close as to a date to stop it!!

  9. OBAMA... WHOEVER VOTES FOR MCCAIN IS STUPID BECAUSE HE WILL START WW3 AND MAKE THE ECONOMY WORST DON'T YOU PEOPLE GET IT MCCAIN=BUSH= RECESSION, HUNGER, MANY DEATHS, INCREASE IN CRIME, NO JOBS. THIS COUNTRY WILL BECOME MEXICO (NO OFFENSE IM MEXICAN) IF MCCAIN BECOMES THE NEXT PRESIDENT. SO PEOPLE MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION AND VOTE FOR BORACK OBAMA=HAPPINESS, BETTER ECONOMY, MORE JOBS, MORE MONEY, NO WAR, NO TERRORIST THREATS.

  10. as much as i do not prefer obama..  if electing him  will  shut the mouths  of jessie jackson, al sharpton  and calypso louie.. he has my vote..

  11. From the previous actions of George Bush, it really is going to be hard for me to trust the GOP with this issue.

I think McCain will overstay our welcome.

I think Obama may pull out too fast.

Is either one really better than the other?

  12. McCain was for the surge.

    Obama was against the surge.

The surge is working as can be evidenced by the security of Anbar Province being handed over to the Iraqis on Monday...

    McCain 1

    Obama 0

See even the truth from a credible source doesn't sway the frantic Obamabots.

  13. Well the Iraqi government has already agreed with Obama's timeline.

/Thumbs down me if you want but it's true.

  14. McCain!

  15. Obama

  16. Future war?

  17. Responsibly....I would say McCain only because I believe that despite his rhetoric, Obama doesn't know what he's doing and is dangerous.

  18. Obama would for sure !
